Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter has long been rumoured to make an MCU return, with the prevailing opinion online now being that we'll see the actress in Daredevil: Born Again.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo seemed likely possibilities once upon a time and it's been widely reported that Ritter came close to shooting a cameo for the latter which was scrapped when it became a standalone "Marvel Spotlight" series.
After the disappointing second and third seasons of Jessica's solo series, fans are eager for Ritter to get another chance courtesy of Marvel Studios. Even if we're eventually getting a new Luke Cage (Mike Colter doesn't seem overly interested in returning), this version of the hardened P.I. showing up at some point is still a must.
According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Ritter has met with Marvel Studios about returning to the role and, right now, the expectation is that will happen in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
In other words, Ritter hasn't shot anything for the nine episodes which will launch on Disney+ next March.
That will disappoint many of you, we know, though there's only so much room in the relaunch and we're already getting characters like The Punisher, Bullseye, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson.
Ritter recently stopped short of weighing in on a possible return in Daredevil: Born Again or any other upcoming MCU project but we'd be shocked if it doesn't eventually happen given fan demand. The Man Without Fear's series still seems like the best place to make it a reality as we're sure Matt will need her help in his war with Mayor Fisk.
Last April, Ritter responded positively when asked if she was open to returning as Jessica. "I have no idea; I hope so! I think that people love Jessica; I know because I live it," she said. "Marvel is so secretive - I am just putting that out there that, of course, I would be there in a second. I would have my boots and jacket ready to rock."
Her return has been made even more likely by Marvel Studios' decision to make its Netflix TV shows (which were produced by Marvel Television) officially part of the MCU's "canon."
Starring Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Jeremy Earl, and Ayelet Zurer, Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ next March.
