RUMOR: We May Finally Know When And Where Krysten Ritter Will Return To The MCU As JESSICA JONES

As rumours continue to swirl about whether Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones in the MCU, a new report claims to shed more light on when the alcoholic private detective will return to our screens.

Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter has long been rumoured to make an MCU return, with the prevailing opinion online now being that we'll see the actress in Daredevil: Born Again.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo seemed likely possibilities once upon a time and it's been widely reported that Ritter came close to shooting a cameo for the latter which was scrapped when it became a standalone "Marvel Spotlight" series.

After the disappointing second and third seasons of Jessica's solo series, fans are eager for Ritter to get another chance courtesy of Marvel Studios. Even if we're eventually getting a new Luke Cage (Mike Colter doesn't seem overly interested in returning), this version of the hardened P.I. showing up at some point is still a must.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Ritter has met with Marvel Studios about returning to the role and, right now, the expectation is that will happen in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

In other words, Ritter hasn't shot anything for the nine episodes which will launch on Disney+ next March.

That will disappoint many of you, we know, though there's only so much room in the relaunch and we're already getting characters like The Punisher, Bullseye, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson.

Ritter recently stopped short of weighing in on a possible return in Daredevil: Born Again or any other upcoming MCU project but we'd be shocked if it doesn't eventually happen given fan demand. The Man Without Fear's series still seems like the best place to make it a reality as we're sure Matt will need her help in his war with Mayor Fisk.

Last April, Ritter responded positively when asked if she was open to returning as Jessica. "I have no idea; I hope so! I think that people love Jessica; I know because I live it," she said. "Marvel is so secretive - I am just putting that out there that, of course, I would be there in a second. I would have my boots and jacket ready to rock."

Her return has been made even more likely by Marvel Studios' decision to make its Netflix TV shows (which were produced by Marvel Television) officially part of the MCU's "canon."

Starring Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel, Jeremy Earl, and Ayelet Zurer, Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ next March.

I think it's safe to say most of these people met with Marvel as some point, groundbreaking news once again...

@bobevanz - I'm sure they even reached out to Dolph Lundgren for Punisher and the original actors from Roger McCormick's Fantastic 4 cast. They're not idiots. They're covering all their bases. I have a feeling Secret Wars will be bigger than anyone can imagine. It would actually be pretty awesome if they got Lou Ferrigno for a Hulk varient.

I admit the second season of Jessica Jones wasn’t that great, probably my second least favourite Defenders Saga season after Iron Fist’s first season, but I thought the third season while not perfect was pretty solid. Also, kinda disappointed that Colter won’t be returning as Luke Cage, though that article said “he is open”, so fingers crossed?

I feel like these goal posts keep moving for her supposed return which makes me think these people are just guessing…

Regardless , I hope she does come back because I like her & the version of Jessica she brought to the screen (even got enjoyment of her latter seasons even if S1 remained the best).

@bobevanz - Heck na, I think they’re going to make iron fist and luke cage non canon. I’m hoping giancarlo esposito’s mystery character is a recast cottonmouth since the serpent society is in the movie. That would free up mahershala ali to play blade without people connecting him back to Luke Cage

Does it HAVE to be in Daredevil or a tv show specifically? I wouldn't mind her popping up in a movie the way Matt did. Same with Danny and Luke.

The only one I’m not totally convinced is coming back in Danny but even then I think it’s a domino effect. You bring back Matt eventually you bring back Jessica, you bring back Jessica you bring back Luke, you bring back Luke I’d imagine you also bring back Danny they are all decently tied together

Retcon her and Luke into being the parents of Michelle Jones. Jessica married MJs asshole stepfather which is why MJ rejects the 'Watson' from 'Watson-Jones'.
