Daredevil: Born Again recently secured a March 2025 release on Disney+ and fans remain eager to see which characters from the Man Without Fear's past join him in the MCU.
Jon Bernthal's Punisher has already been confirmed to appear alongside Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, though rumours of Krysten Ritter showing up as Jessica Jones are still swirling. Recently, the actress appeared to confirm that with an Instagram post which saw her decked out in Jessica's "Save Our Souls" t-shirt from the show.
However, her "IYKYK" caption might not have held as much meaning as some fans hoped.
Asked by Collider whether she realised the speculation about an MCU return that post would create, Ritter responded, "No, I didn’t. I have the shirt. It’s a great t-shirt. It's one of my favorites and I was wearing it. I was like, 'Oh, cute! Is anyone gonna recognize my shirt?' But yeah, I did notice that it made some waves. That was fun."
As for how it felt to see that level of support, she added, "That means a lot to me, as well. The character means so much to me, as well. It’s funny that one little thoughtless Instagram story of my cute t-shirt that I love [got that reaction]."
Ritter stopped short of commenting on a possible return in Daredevil: Born Again or any other upcoming MCU project but we'd say it's likely. That series still seems like the best place to make it happen as we're sure Matt will need her help in his war with Mayor Fisk.
Last April, Ritter responded positively when asked if she was open to returning as Jessica. "I have no idea; I hope so! I think that people love Jessica; I know because I live it," she said. "Marvel is so secretive - I am just putting that out there that, of course, I would be there in a second. I would have my boots and jacket ready to rock."
Her return has been made even more likely by Marvel Studios' decision to make its Netflix TV shows (which were produced by Marvel Television) officially part of the MCU's "canon."
We've long heard rumblings about plans for Jessica to return, and while it didn't happen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law or Echo, we'd put money on seeing her again in Daredevil: Born Again (if not in the first half of the series, definitely the second).
As always, stay tuned for updates.
