LOKI Director Kate Herron Explains The "Glorious" Deleted Stark Tower Scene We Saw In The First Trailer

Loki director Kate Herron has revealed how that deleted scene with Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief in Stark Tower would have factored into the Disney+ series, and we're betting it's not what you expected.

There were two scenes in the Loki trailers that left fans stumped by the time the series ended. One showed the God of Mischief in Asgard (we'd later learn that was part of a scene involving Throg), while the other featured him saying "Glorious" in Stark Tower. Before the season finale, many fans theorised that this might be a glimpse at his return to the timeline, but that obviously wasn't the case.

Now, Loki director Kate Herron has cleared things up, confirming that this scene was actually from the premiere. "Originally, I’d filmed a bit basically [where] it’s just him in the mirror before the Avengers arrive, and that’s where that would’ve gone. That, I guess, would’ve been our opening."

"We restructured a bit at the beginning because we added that in with the Hulk smash. Originally, it was written as the opening of the show, but then we took it out and we added in bits from the films," she continues. "Essentially, it actually would’ve been beforehand, because it’s before the Avengers...it [was] meant to be an earlier in the day moment. Basically, before anything kicks off."

Herron went on to explain that she was excited to make use of footage from the movies that hadn't been seen before "like the bit where he waves, the close-up" and noted that it was a cool montage.

"I think we just felt that actually we should probably just cut to the chase," the filmmaker added after being asked why it was scrapped. "Just get stuck into it. I think for us it was just about pace, honestly. It was like, let’s just get stuck into it. Get it moving along so we can get to the desert."

That does make sense, especially as there was no real need to relive the events of The Avengers in such detail. Hopefully, Marvel Studios chooses to release these deleted scenes at some point because it feels like there are a lot of moments from all these Disney+ TV shows we didn't get to see.

Honestly, though, we just want more Throg...

Loki was easily the best paced of the Marvel shows, with WandaVision in second, and FatWS in a distant third.

It flowed really well, whereas I felt like WV came to a halting stop when SWORD was introduced and the mystery began to unravel. FatWS was horribly paced, IMO.

The thing I might want the most out of all multiversal sheniagans is the return of Klaw. The one from the comics with a body made out of sound. Still played by Andy Serkis of course.
Yeah, the could give Ronan a second chance also..

@Reeds2Much - oddly enought, that would have been in line with the themes of the show

@Reeds2Much - OK, I was willing to believe he was hyping himself up in the mirror, but I like your version way more.

Thanks for the laugh, Reed. I needed that today
