LOKI: Marvel Studios Shares A Handful Of Spoiler Stills From The Epic Season Finale

Usually, Marvel releases an entire gallery of stills from the latest episodes of its Disney+ TV shows, but today's finale of Loki was so packed full of reveals, we have only a few to whet your appetites!

What a finale, eh? Marvel Studios certainly didn't disappoint when it came to how things wrapped up in the first season of Loki, and it seems fair to say that the stage has now been set for a crazier take on the MCU in Phase 4 than we ever could have anticipated just a few short years ago.

The Multiverse has been created, and with that, the door is open to a whole host of new stories.

As if that isn't exciting enough, a major new villain (or should that be villains?) has been introduced, and if you thought Thanos was bad, well, it seems we might not have seen anything yet!

You can read our full recap of "For All Time. Always." by clicking here, but in the meantime, we have some new stills from the episode to share with you. There are only three this time - expect more, and perhaps a new character poster, to follow on Monday - but they take us inside the Citadel at the End of Time and tease the conclusion to Loki and Sylvie's journey together.

We're going to be bringing you a lot of Loki content today, and something tells us that thanks to this finale, we'll be talking about this series for a very, very long time to come...

It's a good thing Kang was the reveal, because if it was just another Loki variant... I don't think I'd wanna sit through 30 minutes of exposition like they did in this episode.

But because it's Kang, I get it. Gave me a Wizard of Oz/Willy Wonka type vibe.

...how are these stills spoilers? I've seen the episode, and I don't get what you're spoiling with these stills.

@Origame - ...not everyone has seen the episode yet?!

@Kyos - ...I know that. But what about these stills spoil anything? They're pointing swords at the bad guy (who we don't see here), one of Renslayer talking to miss minutes (which she has already done and nothing about what the conversation even is) and finally a still of the two lokis looking at each other with no context. You still have no idea what's going on without the context of the episode.

Jonathan Majors elevated what was basically an exposition dump.

He was so off kilter as Kang (Immortus). I was never sure of where he was going with things. His charisma was something else.

Can’t wait for his Conqueror take. He played threatening really well on Lovecraft when he had to.

@BlackBeltJones - this went even beyond Immortus. This dude was way too chill (and kinda reminded me of how I think of Hades when thinking of Greek mythology).

I'm hoping we'll find Immortus in the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man 3.

@bkmeijer - I took him as Immortus due to him being somewhat benevolent and weary. Immortus was a weary Kang, tired of war.

But indeed could’ve just been one among countless versions and we’ve yet to see the true Immortus.

@BlackBeltJones - I was thinking the same thing, but than I thought there are an infinite amount of him (as he said himself) so I assume this wasn't the Immortus.

For some reason I was so distracted by the yellow splashes on the wall in the Citadel. Looked like somebody had been throwing paint around the room.

Other than that, the Citadel looked pretty damn cool (and that rock kinda reminded me of Vormir, just like the sky)

@bkmeijer - This is obviously purely an assumption but I took all the cracks as a symbol of the age of time itself. Kang sat at the very end of time and that’s eons and eons and eons.

He commanded time at the very end so there would be fissures at that point.

@BlackBeltJones - that could be yeah. He probably used some advanced technology to do so, but even that could still be faulty

Liked the whole series including the end but I was disappointed in the mid cred… that’s usually the fun part that keeps me wanting more and interested in seeing what happens next in the MCU.
Not a fan of trolling us with mid/post cred or not giving us anything at all. #marvelfanprivilege

@slickrickdesigns - surely the ending was the fun part that kept you wanting more? Plus the credits ‘scene’ was literally telling us we’re getting more

the genius of Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie is that it made us forget that, in the end, she's just another Loki bound to make the same mistakes than the others.

Someone on twitter said now that Loki's finale has officially ended with the multiverse being a thing Marvel can release the Spider-Man NWH trailer and I'd be lying if said I didn't think that made sense.

@RageDriver2401 - some guy at Sony's offices about to release the trailer right now

bkmeijer2 - 7/14/2021, 8:16 AM
@RageDriver2401 - that makes a lot of sense if it's indeed the case NWH is gonna focus on the multiverse.

Kinda expect it to be released when Shang-Chi premieres though.

I say the episode was overall great. But there's one line that takes away from everything that happened, it makes choices feel inconsequential.
Kang says that if Sylvie chooses to kill him, at the end of the multiverse war, he will end up at the same place in the citadel.
So where's the risk? If it's the same "benevolent" Kang who wins at the end, if his place of power is outside of time, he can reshape the timeline and take away all of the loss and pain of the multiverse war as if it didn't happen? So why should I feel urgency or care at all?
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 7/14/2021, 7:04 AM
@Fares - I think it's just methaphorical. who takes power after bringing down the dictator? well, another one. but that's just his own perspective, Loki is gonna have to find a way to prevent it from happening all over again. I mean, it kinda did happen already, when he returned to a TVA that wasn't his TVA and the dude's statue was there.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 7/14/2021, 7:04 AM
and there's your consequence, it's multiversal Groundhog's Day in a way.
Fares
Fares - 7/14/2021, 7:05 AM
@Waddles - Fingers crossed for that. I can't imagine Loki having a nice cold pint and waiting for this all to blow over. So he'll definitely play some role in the events to come.
But truth be told, Kang sounded rather honest the whole way through.
Fares
Fares - 7/14/2021, 7:06 AM
@Spidey91 - Yeah I thought of that as well, that idea could work pretty well and give us the true antagonistic Kang.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/14/2021, 8:16 AM
@Fares - I guess it's more of an assumption on Kang's part. Whatever happens, he believes a version of him will always come out on top.

The acting of Jonathan Majors was just amazing. The dude just sucked you into the story. He is going to be fun to watch over the next few years.
