LOKI: Officially Released Character Poster Puts The Spotlight On Jonathan Majors' "He Who Remains"

Marvel Studios has released one final character poster for last week's season finale of Loki - "For All Time. Always." - and it puts the spotlight on Jonathan Majors' Kang Variant, "He Who Remains."

"For All Time. Always." saw Loki wrap up with a major cliffhanger ending as the God of Mischief found himself stranded in another timeline...one ruled over by Kang the Conqueror!

Earlier in the episode, we met "He Who Remains," a Kang the Conqueror Variant who had created the Time Variance Authority in an effort to preserve a single timeline and stop his Variants from battling it out in a Multiversal War. While He Who Remains is an obscure Thor villain from the comic books, this version was more akin to Immortus (as you can see from his costume).

Jonathan Majors did an incredible job bringing Kang to life on screen, but after Sylvie struck down He Who Remains, the Multiverse has been reborn, and his Variants are coming to wage war.

That doesn't bode well for The Avengers, and it seems likely we'll see Majors play lots of different versions of Kang over the next few years, with his "Conqueror" persona almost certainly the MCU's new big bad (Kang once effortlessly destroyed Thanos in the source material, so Earth's Mightiest Heroes are in serious trouble once they eventually cross paths with the villain).

Check out this latest character poster for Loki below, and come back here later for some new stills!

I’m happy the show actually gave us the big bad it had been teasing, and not some dude named Boner.

All I could think of for the last half of the season was, What would happen if Sylvie and Loki had a kid?

Is it incest? They are the same person, but their DNA is obviously not the same because they look different and are different genders. So are they different enough for that to not be an issue?

@CorndogBurglar - well they do have the same parents, so in a sense they are brother and sister. Reminded me since the beginning of the Luteces from Bioshock Infinite, and since then I also thought it was a weird relationship.

@CorndogBurglar - Well, in Mythology, gods [frick] their family members and have kids constantly. So...

@CorndogBurglar - I still don't count it as incest, though in terms of a child it would depend just how different sylvie is to loki.

Now bare with me, but the variants we've seen can vary pretty wildly. To the point we can end up with a huge black loki and even an alligator loki. So when it comes to sylvie, the question is if there's more to her than that.

For example, I theorize that Odin and Freya tried to have another child after Thor, but when that didn't work they adopted the frost giant we'd later know as loki. And sylvie is the child they would've had if the plan they had gone all right. Now if this is what happened or something similar, then it'd be no different than any other pairing.

However, if the only difference between the two really is gender, then the child would most likely have similar problems to an incestuous relationship, since those problems come from a lack of variation in the genetic makeup that's important for furthering a given species.
