THE WALKING DEAD's Chad Coleman Wants To Play LUKE CAGE

" I want to play Luke Cage so I'll put it out there right now, 'I want to play Luke Cage.' So I'm going to be working on trying to develop that. [Walking Dead EP] Gale Anne Hurd, I know you're listening, I'll see you in Atlanta, I know we haven't talked about this yet [laughs] but I would love to play Luke Cage."

"When I started to embody Tyreese, it really got the wheels turning because I admire what Robert Downey Jr. is able to do with Iron Man. I admire [comic book movies] when it's done a certain way, there has to be gravity to it - it can't be cheesy...I feel like I can take that on."

"Man, SWEET CHRISTMAS!"

Need a real big dude who's muscled up & can act well.
He's out there. Find him casting agents.

Chad Coleman will get on the same training regiment that Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth got on. Dude would make a killer Luke Cage, check out The Wire if you doubt.

If they did the Age of Ultron Luke Cage, Danny Glover would be perfect! This guy, I like him, but he needs to trim up.

If he bulks up I could definitely see it. He sounds passionate about it and he's got the acting chops, consider me on board.

If it's comedy-esque, yes, Michael Jai White. Black Dynamite set the golden standard for Luke Cage in that movie. But for an actual movie, serious tone, Coleman would be sick. And trust me, look at that guy, he'd beef up enough to give The Rock a run for his money.

well..he looks the part, and i don't mind the age. Luke's not necessarily supposed to be THAT young anyway. he's a late bloomer, let's say. so, depending on whether he's got a good comic timing, he's got my vote.

@novaprime is too young. He doesn't know no better.

Coleman was awesome in The Wire too. And hilarious in Always Sunny. Dude's got range. Great actor. He would kick ass as Luke Cage.

Sweet Christmas! What is with people thinking the Rock should play Cage? I love the Rock, but Luke Cage is the blackest black superhero ever. He's not half Hawaiian or whatever the Rock is.

At first I couldn't see it, but then I was able to block out his hair, squint my eyes and I could see him playing Luke Cage. Go for it, make a movie, not a show, just because he's on the Walking Dead and I think a movie may work a little better than trying to shop a show around to a network, pilot, etc, etc. When maybe Marvel Studios could slide him between one of the phases, or a little after phase 3. Or better yet, maybe if they have enough money, they could just simply make it within MCU, regardless if he plays a role in the Avengers movies or not. The audience will know he's out there somewhere, and us comic fans will know that it will only be a matter of time.

only a show if he makes an appearance/guest spot on aka Jessica Jones or something and once he's done with Walking Dead (which I have no clue how things go for the character), then be a regular on the show.

And....I'm done babbling lol

Yes, I'd watch that several times over! Could be a good approach. Either solo movies both, leading up to Heroes for Hire. Or simply jump in the story with a HFH movie, right off the bat.

LUKE CAGE IS BLACK!! So please stop asking for the Rock just because he's huge! If anyone has ever read Avengers origins that'll give you a good idea for a Luke Cage movie! It kills me that's everyone's answer for everything

-The Rock (Who's being completely overused in Hollywood right now)
-Idris Elba (who's already been in two marvel movies)
-Terry Cruise (Who's too old for the role)

Here comes the wannabe conedians everytime a black character is mentioned. The ones attempting to trying to be funny by saying choices for the role who aren't black are ignoring the fact that being black is a key element to Luke Cage background history into how he got his powers. Do your history.
