LUKE CAGE Season 2 Stills Show Power Man Taking A Beating From The Villainous Cottonmouth
A new batch of hi-res stills from Luke Cage season two have been released and they offer up a look at everything from Power Man's battles with Bushmaster to his newfound celebrity status in Harlem...
Marvel and Netflix have today released a new batch of hi-res images from the upcoming second season of Luke Cage and these definitely shed a little more light on what we should expect from the series. After all, plot details have mostly been kept under wraps and all we really know is that this second batch of episodes will revolve around Power Man's battle with powerful new enemy Bushmaster.
He gets the spotlight here alongside a number of other characters, including Claire Temple, Mariah Dillard, Shades, and a variety of other new and returning faces we need to be keeping an eye on.
The first season of Luke Cage was great until Diamondback showed up but those behind the series recently indicated that they've learned from that, so here's hoping we see some improvement in season two. To check out this full gallery of images, simply click on either one of the buttons below.
Claire Temple was the character who helped bring all these different heroes together in The Defenders but she now resides firmly in Luke Cage's world as Power Man's love interest and his confidante.
Misty Knight ended up losing her arm in The Defenders, something which brings her one step closer to following the path of her comic book counterpart and she's clearly putting it to good use here.
The recently released trailer for Luke Cage made it clear that Bushmaster is every bit as formidable as the titular hero and this awesome shot from season two shows how him proving that.
Luke Cage is very much Harlem's superhero and here we see him getting involved with the community. Very little is known about the plot of season two right now despite it debuting early next month.
And now it's time for a feat of strength! It's actually a little surprising to see Luke seemingly struggle to lift this tyre; then again, this version of the character isn't as powerful as his comic book counterpart.
While Bushmaster will seemingly be season two's big bad, Mariah and Shades will return but are they going to have to battle the villain for control of Harlem or will they wind up working together?
It's fair to say that fans would have been happier seeing Cottonmouth return in season two (which is obviously impossible) but it appears as if the spotlight will instead be put on Shades again.
Is this Bushmaster making it clear to Mariah that Harlem now belongs to him? It would certainly make it interesting for there to be a three-way conflict in season two as this part of the city comes under fire.
Luke Cage stands tall here and while those guys have pretty formidable looking guns aimed at the hero, it's fair to say they won't get very far because bullets obviously don't have much of an effect on him!
Yes, that was Bushmaster lurking in the background and this shot shows Luke coming face to face with him. Here's hoping the fight scenes between the two are better than Luke vs. Diamondback!
Luke takes control here and it's going to be fun seeing how his powers develop over the course of the season because it felt like the first run of episodes only really managed to scratch the surface.
Well, it's fair to say that Luke is enjoying his newfound celebrity status as Harlem's hero based on these shots as he takes selfies and poses with fans. Alas, his happiness probably won't last for long!
That shooting in Pop's Barber Shop is what led to Luke Cage becoming a superhero but it's been renovated for season two and Power Man now appears to be pretty happy to hang out here.
Misty Knight's cybernetic arm was created by Iron Man in the comic books but this version appears to be a creation of Rand Industries, something which actually makes a whole lot more sense.
Is it almost time for Heroes for Hire? While we know that Danny Rand will be making a cameo appearance in Luke Cage season two, it doesn't look like Marvel and Netflix are quite there yet.
