MOON KNIGHT Director Mohamed Diab And Star Oscar Isaac Seemingly Confirm Season 2 Plans MOON KNIGHT Director Mohamed Diab And Star Oscar Isaac Seemingly Confirm Season 2 Plans

Well, it looks like Disney+'s Moon Knight will be getting a second season after all! Star Oscar Isaac and EP/director Mohamed Diab seemingly confirmed the news with a TikTok video...

Although the first season of Moon Knight certainly left the door open for the story to continue, a second season was far from guaranteed. Out of all the Marvel Disney+ shows, Loki is the only one to be officially renewed for another run, but it looks like we might well be seeing Marc Spector and his various personalities again on the streaming service.

Oscar Isaac appeared alongside EP/director Mohammed Diab in a TikTok shared by the latter niece, who asks if we're going to get a second season of Moon Knight. "Why else would we be in Cairo," replies Isaac.

While this isn't quite the official announcement fans have been hoping for, unless Isaac is just having some fun, we can probably take it as confirmation that The Fist of Khonshu will be back for more adventures at some point.

The season finale ended with the introduction of another persona, the ruthless Jake Lockley, emerging and joining forces with Khonshu to eliminate Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke). Exactly where the story goes from there remains to be seen, but the hope is that the next season will feature some connections to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Moon Knight follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector.

As Steven/Marc's enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Cool, I really liked this show and I’m down for more of it. Hopefully we see him somewhere in a movie or some sort of crossover

Isaac and Dian weren’t the issues. Incredible acting and well directed show. Hopefully the writers room changes.

There’s enough elements of potential for them to improve. I liked A LOT about this show but it completely wasted Ethan Hawke (despite his enjoyment in the creative process) and the ending was way too rushed.

I’m game to stay on the ride. Love the character too much and Isaac kills.

@GhostDog - yeah, the writing was a mess. maybe it’s time to accept that jeremy slater might not be a great writer lol, i feel like he’s had so many shots and i doubt that mortal kombat 2 will be any good either.
isaac killed it tho, top 5 mcu performance. feels like some of these guys are just required to get juiced to the gills and pose for the camera while llewyn davis was out here acting his whole ass off. absolute waste of hawke

@tmp3 - I’m such a Hawke fan and cousins believe they nabbed him. Serious let down. But Isaac nearly made up for it.

Yea Slater seems to be riding that Umbrella Academy As lomg as Isaac is involved we’re gonna get a tour de force with this

Hoping that the new age of Disney+ show with the likes of Andor and Daredevil can learn from the mistakes of the past series, especially the Marvel ones when it comes to overall structure and story arc over 6 episodes only.

Moon Knight, like other Marvel shows started out strong, each episode ranged from serviceable to great, but I felt that the whole was lesser than the sum of its parts. Besides, the ending was so unsatisfactory to me personally.

Even though I wanted a more cerebral Moon Knight and less of a supernatural one, the idea that they were going for has a lot of potentiel, and hopefully the exectuion of a second season will deliver better results.

Also, keep putting banger music in there.

Good news. I really liked the first season. Despite finding all the MCU series on Disney+ good, not great. But here's a question for you guys: if we saw these series as movies, in the cinema, would we like it more? I ask for one reason: when I went to interview Oscar Isaac at the premiere of Moon Knight, I was able to watch the first two episodes in the cinema. And I found so far the best episodes of D+ series I've seen. The experience of cinema, in a movie theater, changes the whole conception of the thing...

@cadunovaesbr - That's a good question and I'm guessing that the answer depends upon the person.

"The experience of cinema": This reminds me of the experience of album songs released as singles and making the top forty. These songs take on a more majestic feel when they get more attention from their airplay and it seems to help make the album better. It's somewhat about "perception".

The same band who has a few hits on their last album can release another but it not get the same promotion, so there are no big hits despite the fact that album is just as good or better than their previous one (with some hits on it). Now, these new songs that are also hit-worthy don't get released as singles, nor get airplay, so the songs and album don't take on the same majestic feel.

This is part of the reasons why many directors want their films released in theaters, as it somewhat makes their films seem more legitimate and more cinematic. It's about perception to some degree. The film gets extra attention (like the hit singles) and it seems to make the film a "bigger deal" in the eyes of many.

However, to people like me who lost the excitement of theater going decades ago, it does not have the same effect on me as, let's say, you. The "magical" mystique of seeing films on the big screen was lost to me a very long time ago, as I no longer enjoy going to the theaters with all of the inconveniences built into the theatrical experience.

Once I am "into" a film, I am not aware of the size of the screen, so watching films on the "big screen" doesn't make it any better than watching films at home on a much smaller screen. The "magic" just isn't' there.

For example, I watched Platoon for the first time on a small TV in my room in the middle of the day, with sunlight pouring in, and I was so "into" the film, I didn't notice any of the surrounding environment. So, it makes no difference to me seeing them in the theater or at home, except I am more comfortable at home and prefer to watch them there.

I hope some of that made sense.

If seeing Disney+ episodes on the big screen makes them seem more important, then you would enjoy the episodes more. Or, like me, I watched Black Widow for the first time at home, and noticed no difference at all when compared to watching the other MCU films at the theater in terms of how I felt about the film. I would rather be comfortable with all of the luxuries of home viewing.

lets f*cking go! more than any other Marvel D+ show this one deserves another season, hopefully they can write a more streamlined season now. the Egypt stuff was cool and relevant for the character but was also stretched out a bit thin, keep it street level for season 2.
and who knows? maybe one day he can cross paths with a certain devil from Hell's Kitchen.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 8/3/2022, 7:38 PM
and since now they're willing to allow more violent R rated stuff, maybe don't cut away from the bloody beatings so much next time.
