We had lots to discuss after watching yesterday's episode of Moon Knight (check out our in-depth breakdown here), and Marvel Studios has now shared a new gallery of stills from "The Friendly Type."
Lots of key characters and moments receive the spotlight, including Khonsu, Marc Spector's team-up with Layla, Midnight Man (well, Anton Mogart), and the villainous Arthur Harrow. Moon Knight Head Writer Jeremy Slater recently spoke to Marvel.com about casting Ethan Hawke in the role, confirming that the Oscar-nominated actor ended up changing his vision for Khonshu's former avatar.
"I pitched and wrote a draft where he was much [older],'" Slater told Marvel.com during a recent interview. "In that version, it was very much someone looking at their own mortality, reaching the end of the road, being terrified of that, and desperate to do anything to capture it. The second Oscar came to everyone and said, 'Look, I think I can get Ethan Hawke in this.' We quickly abandoned the idea of an older Harrow because when you get a chance to get Ethan Hawke, you take it."
Harrow has certainly proven himself one of the MCU's better villains, but with three episodes of Moon Knight left, we'll soon find out whether he manages to leave a lasting impact.
Promos for upcoming episodes of the series have pointed to us getting an epic final battle with a powered-up Harrow squaring off with Marc Spector, so we're definitely intrigued. Moon Knight's future beyond this series remains a mystery, but we'd bet on Hawke's baddie being a one-and-done antagonist.
