RUMOR: Marvel Is Developing A MOON KNIGHT Series For Netflix

Is Marc Spector being lined up to join Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and co. on the small screen? That's the latest rumor, though we don't have many details.

Not too much on this yet, so take it with the requisite grain of salt - but during a guest spot on Collider Heroes, Heroic Hollywood's El Mayimbe mentioned that Marvel was planning to develop a Moon Knight TV series for Netflix.

Marc Spector is often referred to as Marvel's version of Bruce Wayne (though obviously he's not as well-known as Batman), and also being a violent SOB on occasion, Netflix would seem to be the perfect place to showcase this character. Skip to around the 10:00 point in the video for the relevant conversation.

Marvel recently announced a new ongoing Moon Knight comic from Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood that seems to be putting a very interesting twist on Mr. Spector by making him a patient in an insane asylum - so that could influence the TV series if they're looking to try something a bit different with this. Then again, there's plenty of great source material out there already.

What do you guys think? We have heard rumblings of a Moon Knight TV show before so is this just speculation built on top of previous rumor, or do we finally have something solid?

Hopfully this doesn't replace Iron Fist. IMO it should be after Iron Fist and after Punisher.

This is good news. They should look into CLOAK and DAGGER. Back in the early eighties they had a couple of mini series that were very dark. I was surprised how dark it was. Drug use, sex slavery and violent. It would work so well on NETFLIX.

Honestly, I would prefer a Moon Knight series over a solo Iron Fist one, but I absolutely want Dany Rand to appear in Luke Cage's show at some point, so it can transmutate into Heroes for Hire. This would be perfect.

DO IT.......PLEASE.

Would love to have a Deathnote-esque style story in a CBTV. And looks like Moon Knight is the perfect series.

I've always hated the MK comparisons to bat man. MK is the literal embodiment of an Egyptian God. Plus Marc got most of his fortune from murdering people and not from mommy and daddy.

Hope this rumor is true, I'd be so down!!

Sounds great, but (and I know I'm probably in the minority here) I'd like to see a series that doesn't go too meta or clever. A more traditional masked vigilante show, with heavy focus on Marlene, Frenchie, and Crawley and their relationships with Marc's various identities. (Maybe with Marc, Jake, Steven, and Moon Knight/Khonshu each being something of a distinct dissociative personality.)

All due respect to people who like the more abstract Moon Knight stuff, but I'd much rather see him as a somewhat grittier Fist of Khonshu and Protector of Night Travelers than stuck in a loony bin or fighting hallucinations and ghosts. Or even worse, just an off-brand Batman that publishers feel comfortable making "really crazy".

Is… is it wrong that I'd love to see Nick Cage as Mark Spector?
Damn, he's probably too old by now. But still…

looks like marvel may be having a difficult time bringing iron fist to TV, so something a bit more "real", like moon knight may be an option.

I like fister more than the knight so I'd be disappointed, but I do think that they an make moon knight into an interesting character so uf true, it may be OK.

The only thing that makes me fairly confident that a Moon Knight show wouldn't really go full-on weird is that you can't really do stuff like this...

On a TV budget.

@KillEmAll

Yeah Moon Knight is very unique.
People must make the Batman comparison solely from a superficial standpoint.

I'd love to see this happen.

PLEASE BE TRUE! If they do this along with Punisher, all they need is Ghost Rider and Cloak and Dagger and they could have an awesome group to set up a Marvel Knights series!

An amazing character, I really hope it is true, would love for Moon Knight, Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Midnight Sons, possibly new warriors and Runaways, though runaways seem more likely for movie due to the budget constraints. And someone pointed out cloak and dagger, and hopefully Kamala Kahn, Marvel must use ALL of its resources, but focusing solely on Moon Knight, the series has the potential to be mind blowing, having him interact with the Defenders would be such a surreal moment while also realizing there is a talking raccon somewhere in the distance of space saving the galaxy simultaneously.
