Marvel Studios' shift to television has definitely been a success, something that's been reflected by WandaVision's Emmy win, for example. That limited series played out over 9 episodes, but the rest have been told over six, leading to slightly rushed, often jam-packed finales.
Hawkeye got plenty of room to breathe with a 62-minute finale, but The Falcon and The Winter Soldier struggled to tie up all those loose ends and focus on Sam Wilson becoming Captain America even over the course of 53 minutes. Loki, meanwhile, crammed in a lot of exposition during its 48-minute finale, and as we head into Moon Knight's final episode, we have disappointing news to share.
Trusted insider Amit Chaudhari (who has never shared an incorrect runtime for one of these shows) has revealed that the limited series' finale will be just 44 - 45 minutes long.
That makes it the shortest MCU on Disney+ finale to date, and with so much story to tell as we head into the episode, it's tough to imagine Moon Knight delivering a fully satisfying ending. At this point, it feels like we can probably forget about meeting Jake Lockley as there surely won't be time, while a Werewolf by Night cameo seems similarly unlikely unless Arthur Harrow is beaten in a matter of minutes.
We'll reserve judgement for now, but fingers crossed Marvel Studios sticks the landing.
Moon Knight has been billed as a "limited series," meaning there probably won't be a season 2. This obviously puts the pressure on next Wednesday's episode to tie everything up as neatly as possible.
