Amazing THE PUNISHER Set Photos Show Frank Castle Wearing A Bloodied Version Of His Iconic Skull Vest

We don't know when The Punisher will debut on Netflix but shooting recently finished and it's thought that we'll get to see it either later this year or early 2019. For now, though, some new set photos have surfaced and these will make fans of the comic books very happy as Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle can be seen running through the streets - gun in hand - wearing his iconic skull vest...covered in blood!

We don't have any details about what was happening in this scene but it definitely appears as if Frank is chasing someone down and as good as season one was, it's nice to see The Punisher finally wearing his comic book costume in broad daylight. With any luck, we'll see a lot of it throughout the second season and with NYCC right around the corner, here's hoping some more details are revealed soon.

What do you guys think of these new set photos from The Punisher? Share your thoughts down below.

Hope this is better than season one. After setting up a perfect foundation for a Punisher show in DD season 2, they took a terrible step backward and undid all of that in two episodes of this show. Then it went way too far into this boring govt conspiracy angle. Too much of that, too much of Frank hanging out with Micro's wife and one thing no one ever said they hoped for when envisioning a punisher show was "Boy I sure do hope we get a Micro sex scene"

@TH29 - agreed, I thought it was a good show but a bad punisher show. The way it dealt with ptsd and how war affects people was great but it really undid the perfect set up he had in DD season 2

@TH29 - Totally agree man. I'm going through a Netflix MCU re-watch right now and it's crazy how much I don't care about ANYONE in the Punisher S01 other than Frank.

I echo @Ha1frican's statements, It's a good show but a not-so-good Punisher show.

Hoping we get some more Frank comic-centric stuff in the second season and less government conspiracy and side character stuff (looking at you Micro's wife, Dinah and Lewis.)

I watched 3 or 4 episodes of season 1 and got a little bit bored! Keep meaning to go back to it but have so little spare time these days. Have just finished episode 5 of Luke Cage season 2 and I'm loving it so far.

@MarvelousMarty - Punisher Season one for me personally was so boring and gave me almost nothing of what I personally want out of a Punisher show. The Ennis books among others have the perfect blueprint for what a Punisher show should flow like. This was dull CSI Punisher style nonsense. Daredevil season 2 he at least felt like the Punisher from the get go. Luke Cage season 2 I really ended up enjoying after feeling the first was a bit of a let down.

I adored the Punisher Season One... It was less action focused than maybe some people expected, but I loved the character interactions, the slow build up throughout, Micro's entire storyline was beautifully handled, and the concept of more Billy Russo/Jigsaw gets me so excited

@FilmDork1221 - In My opinion as a NON Punisher show, its fine. But to me it just felt like such a departure from the character and those set photos of Russo with a couple measly scars didnt help excite me either. It just felt like it was treading water I suppose, instead of him being full on Punisher. Just like Iron Fist took a whole season with Danny not being Iron Fist. I am cool with people enjoying it though, I hope the 2nd season is more what i want.

@FilmDork1221 - yea, I loved it, and was even able to get my 30+ year old sister to watch and she liked it too. I think Marvel felt they had to go a different direction to differentiate THEIR Frank from Punisher: War Zone (which it seems is what people expected) that movie, despite it's flaws had a near PERFECT Frank Castle in Ray Stevenson.

Super excited for where they take the next season!

Season 1 was great. Really dived into the character in ways I didn't expect.

Is micro back for this season? I know his arc put him in a spot where he wouldn’t be, but I loved him!

My favorite parts of Season 1:

Bernthal's performance

Dinah Midani (VERY surprising to me)

Billy Russo

BEST scene:

Frank, a knife, and MICRO's son

I can’t wait to see where they go with season 2. Season 1 was better than all the marvel and DC tv shows.

I have to say, I definitely agree with others that the whole government conspiracy element was pretty tedious. I really hope season two goes back to Punisher's more classic roots of just killing criminals- preferably mafia, say, Gnucci- that need to be killed. I just don't know how they can make thirteen hours of it not feel too repetitive and gratuitous.

Cool shots. I believe this take place when he's chasing Russo.

I got re-read Ennis Max run again soon.
