Appearing on the Comedy Central podcast Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz, actor Paul Bettany shared his excitement for the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision.
When Horowitz jokingly asked if the project would be better than Cats, Bettany replied, "I think we can guarantee a few things. I think we took an enormous swing [and] I think it's going to payoff. I've never seen Kevin Feige more giddy and excited."
Bettany then went on to reveal that shooting WandaVision in front of a live audience was actually a nerve-racking situation. "I was terrified [because] I haven't been on stage for 20 years or something like that- maybe, 25 years. We were all terrified."
WandaVision was originally slated to arrive on Disney+ before the end of 2020, but it seems COVID-19 related delays have pushed the series into next year as the latest promo has revealed that the series will premiere on January 15, 2021.
In addition to Bettany's Vison and Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch the series will feature:
- Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, a grown-up version of the character introduced in Captain Marvel
- Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, reprising her role from the Thor franchise
- Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, the FBI agent previously seen in Ant-Man
- Kathryn Hahn as Agnes, described as Wanda and Vision's nosy neighbor
Despite the series wrapping and set to premiere in just under 2 months, virtually nothing is known about the plot - a far cry from most MCU films which typically have a significant portion of the story spoiled before release due to excessive interviews, TV spots and trailers.
