WandaVision may not have delivered the Doctor Strange and Mephisto cameos we were hoping for, but it did shock us with the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of the White Vision.
Rebuilt from the remains of the original and then given his memories back by the Westview version, we don't know what comes next for the synthezoid...and neither does Paul Bettany.
"I can’t answer that, honestly," he told The Playlist during a recent interview. "I have many friends around this age, for whom White Vision was like a big deal for them in the ’70s. So Kevin [Feige] and I had been talking about that for years. But I can’t remember the moment. I suspected something when we talked about draining my character of color in 'Avengers: Infinity War.'"
The site pushed the actor for details, and was asked if he realised WandaVision wouldn't necessarily be the last time he worked with Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen. "No. I mean, I’m honest with you. I still don’t know that," Bettany reiterated. "I don’t have a contract. I don’t know that. I don’t know that at all. And all that I do know is, as far as this sort of traunch of press goes, it’s for an Emmy push, which is for a limited series. So it doesn’t look like that happening again."
"I mean, I guess it would be difficult to introduce White Vision and not deal with him in some way, but we have not discussed that."
It seems likely Bettany is telling the truth here, and while there are plenty of theories out there about this Vision factoring into everything from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to Armor Wars, we simply do not know how Marvel Studios intends to use this version of the character just yet.
