Is Heroes Coming back for Season Five?

Ali Larter talks about whether or not Heroes will be returning for another season

At recent premier event for "Resident Evil: Afterlife," Ali Larter answered a few questions from fans and as expected, questioning turned to "Heroes." If you recall, Season 4 of "Heroes" ended back in February with no word from NBC or Tim Kring as to whether or not the show will be returning for a season 5.

Larter had this to say, "I think we're coming back for 'Heroes' for another season. I think, but I'm not sure. It's been such a thrill being on that show and I hope that we have the chance to sort of wrap up those storylines for all the fans of it."

There has been much speculation as to whether or not the once popular show would be returning. After the very popular first season, rating have continued to drop with viewers disappointed in the direction of the show. If the show does return, they'd have to start shooting some time this summer, so we should have word in the near future, from either NBC or Kring.

ecksmanfan: I loved the first season and was quite disappointed with the second. The third had potential but it went down-hill fast. I have watched bits and pieces of four, but have basically given up on the show, as many others have. Unfortunately, Larter doesn't seem to know the future of the show either. I say end it. Put a bullet into it and ends its suffering.

I loved the First season also because there was so much stuff we didn't known of what was this world and the secret society. Then it got ridiculous and silly. They introduced too many characters only to have them killed off or disappear and never seen again. I feel bad the show went the wrong way. Even Tim Kring said that the fans were stupid, so that doesn't help. Plus season 1 ending was like Watchmen. The show was trying to be like X-men but it just crumbled on its own weight of stupidity. It should have been the ultimate mixture of all things comic books dream of, but it fell flat. They even said they weren't prepared for another season. Another issue is the cost to make these episodes, they are pushing special effects for TV and it was draining money from NBC. I gave up at season 3 and never saw a single episode of 4. Its time to move on. Put both barrels into the series and be done with it.

I'm guessing they want to keep the show, but are probably figuring out how to do it.If they didn't want to make another season, they would just simply cancel it.The season is over, it's not like they're waiting on the final ratings numbers. They knew in February if they were going to keep it or not.Why keep actors tied to to a show that isn't going to return.I think they're debating if they can justify the show's budget against the viewership. They probably want to see where it will fit in with their new line up.We'll probably end up seeing less characters next season.

I really wish NBC would look into bringing comic book writers into the series, and instead of doing 2 separate arcs per season, tell 4 or 5 connected arcs per season.Like in a comic book, where each storyline lasts about 3-6 issues, leading into the next storyline.

They can make the next season as good as the first (well they can try).

Are you kidding me? Heroes is a piece of shit show! Everyone I know gave up on the show at the end of season three. I held out and stuck around to the end of season four. It was painfully boring and lacked EVERYTHING. I don't care if they give it another season. I have given up. And the majority of people I know have given up and won't be tuning in for another season. Smallville IS good and if it wasn't it WOULD NOT have lasted as long as it has. Say what you will about Smallville, but it did get renewed for a 10 season and that means PEOPLE ARE WATCHING. Heroes may live to see a 5th season, but it will never live to have the life that Smallville has that is for sure.

I still have hope for improvement, but after this, they've got no chances left.

It wasnt that bad, they just needed more action. The characters were pretty cool as long as they actually used their powers a little more often. Sometimes there was too much mushiness on the show.

I agree with Kenny, if the show concentrated on smaller arcs (four parters), and stay focused on fewer characters with each arc, the show could vastly improve.

Perhaps have a centralized master villian that causes the problem with each arc. In the final arc, the Heroes can team up to battle the villian.

When the shows are stretched out for 12 episodes there's too much potential for fluff being inserted into the storyline.

I hope not but it does deserve a proper ending.

If you don't like the show, why do you comment about it? GTFO already, whiney little bitches, we don't [frick]ing care if YOU don't like it, cause some of us do. I've liked it regardless, there is no "ending" cause they didn't really make a solid plot to begin with other than finding out they had powers/abilities. That's the story, the rest in it was just filler. I'm not complaining, cause I keep watching it, and this last season was pretty rad, and I kind of like Sylar as a good guy at the end, he actually has a good buddy-cop/partner thing going with Peter (which is ironic cause he killed his brother and they both have the same main ability of absorbing other people's abilities). I liked how it ended with Claire saying "attempt # whatever" to the tv cameras at the carnival, basically telling the world there are mutants out there. The "5th Season" (even though it's really the 6th season I do believe) will be interesting to see people knowning now, and it will be a lot like X-Men one, with the whole registeration talk about knowing who is and isn't special.

Heroes has some of the most worthless characters ever. If they want to save this show, they should get rid of just about everyone. This show went downhill so fast.

I've watched this show, every episode, since day one; never missing a shameless plug for the Nissan Versa, an exasperated shout of glee from Hiro, or any of the bizarre transformations of Dr. Suresh.

Having said that...

Season one was f*ing fantastic. More of that, please...

The Writers' Strike occured...

Nosedive.

Only throughout the mid/latter portion of the last season did they begin to get the formula right again.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) this show will continue to loose support until they can recapture the appeal of the first season...IF they can recapture it.

The death of this show (or it's limping-along sort of half-life) I lay squarely at the feet of the writers. They strike, and then come back with this half-@$$ed drivel for nearly two years, only to finally begin the upturn in the eleventh hour.

I will watch the show until it gets pulled, but heaven help me if I get stuck in an elevator with someone that identifies him/herself as a writer of this show: Four walls, no windows, and a 'Stop Elevator' button.

I've watched all the episodes also and i think it started off great but got off track with adding the online characters and the whole circus thing was boring. I want it to come back with an x-men like feel where there are four or five main good guys and a main villian(group of villians) each season that they are trying to catch like the first season. The whole one of them one of us thing was a good start and should include that also. I just wish it would come back and show us what it can really be like: The Heroes get together and train to use their powers better and use them more often each show.

i agree with most of the comments. i also watched all 4 seasons and never missed an episode. the first season was the best.

seasons 2-3 added a lot of new ones and kind of left the others to drift a bit. like bringing peters father back and then the whole government ops came into play that was just overkill.

season 4 was horrible! that whole storyline with samuel was the worst. i didn't like the actor to begin with (he played a pedophile on prison break). Anyway he gives me the creeps. even his storyline was torture and neverending. i didn't think they'd ever end it.

not to mention claires 'poor me' on every episode. just once i wanted to see her smile and laugh a bit, but they made her out to be complaining & depressing. just wanted her to shut the he** up!

I still want a season 5 though. Need to find out what happens. Maybe if they consulted with Stan Lee (and leaked it out) the storyline would improve, and they'd get better ratings as well.

okay. Where to begin. 1st of all Yes, we all know every season got less exciting as it went on. Though to be honest I still would not ask for anything different because nomatter what,
I think it is the best Tv series I personally have ever seen b4. It's got everything all wrapped up in one. I have seen each episode atleast 2 times. I love being able to record them. :)
Also, I really think they can and will come back strong. It would be nice i think if they kept everything going as is right now, but the next season after the one hopefully coming soon. It
would be nice to see everyone settle down back at their homes where it all started. I think Clair should become a police officer w/ powers. I can just picture her attitude with the
camera on her as if she was the strongest girl in the world. When i say strong, i mean powerful. When i say powerful, i mean it with dignity. Also i just want to say Ali is the sexiest girl alive,
though Clair/hayden is ..the most Beautiful girl in the world. Something about her that makes me feel good about myself. She is so good at what she does. I wish the show was about her more
even though it really is almost all her pretty much. Best actor goes to her. Most interesting story line goes to her. the Best turn arround in this story would be syler. Hero is fun to watch.
Peter is awesome. Nathan, mr. bennett, ando, dr., everybody is getting props from me. Nothing they can do to fail this story. From day one until the day i die, i will watch these shows.
Will never forget even if I can't remember. THE BEST! Keep going please. People who do not like it. It's alright because that just tells me they have not seen the first season.
Until you watch the first season you will not be interested. Watch it and there is no way this show can dissapoint nomater how far off it can go. It will get back on track.
Stay tuned. Become a hero and save a life. Save the world. while endurring the possabilities that this show has. IDc If it doesn't change the way you wanted because true fans like me will still
say at the end of the show. "I cannot wait for the next 1!" Thank you..

Tim is doing an exc. job btw. I just wanted to put that out their. Also look at it this way. It is either going to start out with the 1st season of being bad to being great. Or from Great to alright/bad, but with a strong finish. The thing is if they would have build it to being better. No one would have liked it enough to watch everyone like we have. We would have just given up on the first season. So he did fine. GREAT JOB E1!!
