Is Heroes Completely Dead?

Creator/producer of Heroes - Tim Kring causes possible spin-off/movie speculation

After Heroes was announced as officially dead after four seasons of progressively convoluted and weaker material, the show's creator Tim Kring made a couple statements on the matter.

“I want to first extend my deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the legion of enthusiastic fans who have watched ‘Heroes’ on TV, online, DVR, DVD and mobile over the last four seasons." said Kring.

The statement that raises eyebrows though was when he said this,

"They (NBC) provided me a rare opportunity to put a message of hope, interconnectivity and global consciousness into the world. For that I am grateful and look forward to finalizing our discussion about a number of ways to keep the ‘Heroes’ universe alive for its fans.”

Keeping the universe alive?

Interesting....indeed. Does that mean spinoff? Movie? Who knows, but we do know for sure that Kring doesn't want the Heroverse to just completely die off.

UPDATE:

The Hollywood Insider is reporting that talks between Kring and NBC are gearing towards either a 2 hour movie or mini-series to tie up loose ends for the show.

I would at least like to see a mini-series to wrap a few things up. Yes, the show had it's ups and downs, but most shows do. No, nothing was as good as the first season, but it was fresh and unpredictable then. It started getting a little settled in seasons 2 through 4. But I would still like to see how the world reacted to Claire's last stunt. I really want to see Hiro return to being awesome. I want Parkman to have a happy, quiet life. And I want Sylar to finally find peace. His character got really interesting there at the end. "I'm not like you. I'm a hero." :)

I believe I read that there is going to be a TV movie made so that they can wrap everything up.

I love heroes but this last season was not the greatest it could have been better but that doesn't mean they should end it they should give it another chance.

I LOVED HEROES. One thing that p!ssed me off tho was those f*ckin "webisodes". I don't wanna have to go online, wade through ads, watch 2 commercials, see 3min of footage, watch 2 more commercials, and then see another 3min of footage......utter bullsh!t.

Heroes was the GREATEST casualty of the writers strike.

they should continue it and have spinoff on all the characters or do movies about all the characters and then put them together something like the avengers

@ Talontd - I agree totally, the writers strike killed Heroes, not just with the shoddy material, but also after the loooooooooonnnnnnnnng initial hiatis from the show, and THEN giving us shoddy material when it finally came back.

I'd love to see more of Hiro and Ando though, and also find out what happens to Micah and his triplicate mom/aunts.

I'd like to see them wrap it up. It's a shame to watch such a good show slowly fall to shambles. The last episode of this last season was pretty good though, if they could make the wrap up work like the last episode did it could be as good as the first season.

And I agree with the writers strike killing Heroes. I was saying it to everyone while it was happening. I was just surprised at how long it continued.

It was like Rising Stars Lite. After the first season they really couldn't get back on track with this. It's a shame because this series had potential. Oh well, at least I have the first, and best, season on DVD.

Just exactly what are they going to wrap up in a 2 or 4 hour TV movie? There were continuous plot holes and stupid storylines. Who cares if they make a 2 or 4 hour movie. Suddenly everyone is going to get a happy ending? Claire, Peter and Nathan are going to hold hands and live happily ever after the end? If NBC can spare the money for REAL good special effects and a good script, then do it and lets move on from this dead end show.

I could deal with a tv mini series "as long as each episode is two hours long" or even a three hour long movie at the theater and make it a trilogy, but of course whichever route the story needs to be epic and have awesome special effects.

I was in Vietnam, so I speak English very poorly. however, I also hope to speak their thoughts. heroes season could see he wanted just then was not as expected but when NBC track, I have to admit that the movie is interesting. I do not know everyone's comments but to me how the movie was great from the first episode already. I understand to make a film takes a lot of costs but does not achieve the desired will be very disappointed. But not so say that this film fails is that it is important to leave something for the fans watching. there remains little for viewers who do not? I write more but this line just hope one of the film production can read minds of people around the world apart again I hope Heroes will live long and not end like this in sorry injury of many people.
I hope through this site may know more friends from many countries as my address hon.day [email protected]
