Volume 2 of Love Death + Robots hits Netflix this Friday. Ahead of its highly anticipated premiere, an official red band trailer has been released, and it sure does pack quite the edgy punch.
In the span of a minute, we get a glimpse of all eight episodes in the second volume of this anthology series, and there's certainly no shortage of sex or violence. Would you expect anything else from a series titled Love Death + Robots?
Similar to the first season, there appears to be a nice variety of shorts, both in terms of animation and plot/story. Despite the animated shorts sharing similar thematic elements, each seems to embrace its own style and tone.
The trailer kicks off with an intriguing seduction scene before glitching into a dead body, some sort of laser shot, and a boy with a stuffed animal. And that's just the tip of this zany iceberg.
From there, the red band trailer devolves into absolute insanity and gratuitous amounts of violence, sex, and f**ks. Unfortunately, we don't yet have episode titles or synopses for them, so it looks like we might be going into Volume 2 with a lot of surprises in store.
In the first season, we had episodes deal with adult topics such as racism, government, free will, and human nature while spanning science fiction, horror, fantasy, and even comedy genres. We can only assume that Volume 2 will have similar diversity in storytelling as well.
Do you realize what you’re doing is illegal? The adult animated anthology returns with a vengeance. Love, Death + Robots Volume 2 coming May 14. Consume Irresponsibly.
As previously announced, Love Death + Robots is being split into shorter seasons. Volume 2, which premieres on Friday, May 14, will consist of eight episodes. The series has already been greenlit for a third season, which will premiere in 2022 and also feature eight episodes.
