The Witcher was recently forced to halt production thanks to a positive COVID test, but work has been continuing in earnest since. Unfortunately, the Netflix series has been hit with another significant blow as star Henry Cavill is at home recovering from what Deadline is describing as a minor leg muscle injury.
The actor sustained the injury while filming the show at London's Arborfield Studios where he was working at a height of 20ft while wearing a safety harness.
Cavill is only expected to be unable to work on The Witcher for a short period of time, and the production going on hiatus over Christmas will help avoid any further delays. Shooting has continued without the actor, and he will return to set as soon as he's able to ensure the show is finished on time.
It's been a rough ride for the hit series this year, with filming first halted in March after actor Kristofer Hivju revealed he had tested positive for the coronavirus. In November, work stopped again when it came to light that there had been multiple positive cases among the cast and crew.
Season one of The Witcher was watched by 76 million households, so Netflix likely want it finished A.S.A.P.
