THE WITCHER Star Henry Cavill Has Shared Our First Look At Geralt's Trusty Steed, Roach

The Witcher star Henry Cavill (Justice League, Mission: Impossible - Fallout) has shared a new official still from the show to Instagram, featuring another glimpse of his character Geralt of Rivia along with our first look at Roach the horse.

Cavill included the caption: "The road to San Diego is long. The good news is, on her worst day, Roach beats the company of Men, Elves, Gnomes and even Dwarves. She's not always easy, but she knows more than most and cares just enough to be the only kind of company worth enjoying."

Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski's series of fantasy novels - which have since spawned a hugely popular video game franchise - focus on monster hunters known as Witchers who develop supernatural abilities at a young age. The main character is Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a solitary Witcher who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

The 8-episode first season will be written by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil, The Defenders, Umbrella Academy), who will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. Alik Sakharov (House of Cards, Game of Thrones) will helm a total of four episodes, while Alex Garcia Lopez (Luke Cage, Fear The Walking Dead) and Charlotte Brändström (Outlander, Counterpart) will direct two installments each.

Tell us, are you guys looking forward to The Witcher? Sound off in the usual place, and check out a series of previously released stills below.

@BlackBeltJones - He still wants to play Supes, but WB just wants to do Batman-related stuff even though their highest grossing superhero movie is Aquaman.

What?
Only Batman stuff?

@soberchimera - Cavill out here doing his thing.

I wouldn't want my time to keep being wasted if I were him. Eventually, he has to move on. It is what it is.

@Battabing - Birds of Prey and Joker are technically Batman-spinoffs.

I don't know anything about the books or video games, but the premise of this show sounds so stupid.

Cavill just looks like himself in a costume lol He just doesn't fit the physical appearance but if he can get the attitude down I'm sure people will be able to look past it.
