It was recently revealed Thor star Ray Stevenson will play a character called Babylon Baylon in Ahsoka, but who is the assassin that reportedly follows him into battle? Well, Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) claims that Grand Admiral Thrawn's second in command is called Shin and played by Ivanna Sakhno.

She's said to be Baylon's apprentice, and is a Force user who has ended up embracing the Dark Side. She may also be connected to the Nightsisters, but is loyal to her Master...who used to be a Jedi.

Yes, Baylon is a survivor of Order 66 who fled to the unknown part of the Galaxy that Thrawn and Ezra Bridger found themselves following the events of Star Wars Rebels. While he initially planned to remain a Jedi and continue those teachings, this villain was corrupted, and his interests have somehow become aligned with Thrawn's.

Baylon and Shin are eventually tasked with taking out Ahsoka Tano, and they sound like an exciting choice of antagonist.

Based on what we've learned lately, Thrawn, Baylon, and Shin are seemingly looking to unleash some sort of unspeakable evil on the Galaxy from these unexplored regions, and we'd bet on Ahsoka and Ezra needing to stop them. How this fits into the wider franchise is hard to say, but it could be how Supreme Leader Snoke comes into play before his clone became Emperor Palpatine's puppet.

In the Expanded Universe, Thrawn made use of Jorus C'baoth to kill Luke Skywalker, so perhaps Baylon will now fill that role? Time will tell, but don't be shocked if Mark Hamill reprises that role again in this spin-off series

Interestingly, the site says we should expect Mon Mothma to make a cameo appearance, so Ahsoka will clearly not be to sleep on, even if you aren't overly familiar with The Clone Wars and Rebels

What do you guys think about this latest Star Wars rumour? Sound off in the comments section.

Why does Thrawn want to unleash evil? I thought he just wanted to help empire so they would help him? He is evil now?

@IronGenesis - Yeah, I'm super excited to see Thrawn in live-action, but I really, really hope they won't be dumbing down his character for Disney+.

Hoping he gets Andor-level writing, not Book of Boba Fett-level writing. 🙄

Actually, after Tony Gilroy wraps Season 2 of Andor, could we maybe just grab him for a Thrawn show? I would give my left kidney for something like that.

@IronGenesis - yeah, the Timothy Zahn Thrawn novels don't portray him as evil. Rather as an expert tactician who is looking out for the best interests of the Chiss.

@IronGenesis - Right?! I just finished reading both of Zahn's Thrawn trilogies (the new canon ones) and this doesn't fit his character at all! Of course there's been retconning when it comes to the books and some of the more recent shows, but this would undermine his entire character. Unless they're able to figure out how to write this in a way that makes sense to his true intentions (saving his people from the Grysk), then I hope this info is wrong, or at least misinterpreted.
If it IS true that Thrawn is coming back into town with some dark side friends and "unspeakable evil", then perhaps he's coming with help to fight against the Grysk threat that could be ramping up to attack this corner of the galaxy, or going through the galaxy is just the fastest way to get back to Chiss space. Or he's coming through to see if he can find some help on his way there. Lots of possibilities but at this point it's just a waiting game to see what really happens...

@Arlothia - Zahn's Thrawn isnt Disney Thrawn. Rebels Thrawn is Disney Thrawn.

@IronGenesis @Arlothia - Exactly my thought. And it seems the original article does not hint at that. It's just Wildling's baseless speculation, probably being unfamiliar with Thrawn's background.

"Jorus C'baoth".

The name of the clone Thrawn used against Luke was Joruus. The name of the Jedi from whom he was cloned was Jorus. 🤓

any lead in or reference to the abortion that is the sequel trilogy wont go well with fans. Use the World Between Worlds to Star Trek 09 that shit or it just ultimately doesnt matter because without that, SW doesnt progress. it stays right after ROTJ because it HAS to. they cant even make movies anymore because of how bad that trilogy was. call it a What If story and let some real creatives do something with your IP. for the love of Christ. and boot Kennedy (shes gone in january according to Campea WOOT!)

"it could be how Supreme Leader Snoke comes into play before his clone became Emperor Palpatine's puppet."

Wait, I thought Snoke was just a puppet created out of thin air (i.e. strandcasted). Or did I miss something from a recent novel?

Anyway, if they're doing the Jorus and Mara Jade characters (which these kinda soynd like), I'd prefer they use those names.

@bkmeijer1 - That was the only book I read. That Zahn guy. When Luke's X-Wing dies in mid-space and Mara Jade saves him!
