The Book of Boba Fett has delivered a lot of surprises since first debuting on Disney+, but yesterday's episode featured a debut that's got everyone talking. The Wookie bounty hunter Black Krrsantan will probably only be familiar to those of you who have read Marvel's Star Wars comic books, but his first live-action appearance was a welcome moment that introduces a huge threat to "Lord Fett."
Something tells us Black Krrsantan won't be the only familiar bounty hunter to land on Tatooine, and that got us thinking about who else from the comics, novels, and movies we'd like to see here.
With that in mind, we've rounded up 5 of the most exciting possibilities; some of these names will be familiar to you, while others might have passed you by over the years. They'd all make for formidable threats to Tatooine's new crimelord in The Book of Boba Fett, though, not to mention serve as characters we could continue to see make an impact in this Galaxy Far, Far Away for years to come.
To take a look at the bounty hunters we want to see in the show, hit the "Next" button below!
5. Beilert Valance
Beilert Valance served alongside Han Solo in the Empire (they didn't get on), though the trainee would end up badly injured during a couple of separate incidents. Repaired with extensive cybernetics, this Terminator-like soldier was discharged from service and became a bounty hunter.
He played both sides during the Galactic Civil War, but appears to mostly have a good heart. He even repaired his friendship with Han, though later found himself working with and against Boba Fett when the Galaxy's bounty hunters were searching for Solo after he'd been frozen in Carbonite.
Fett blew Valance up with a thermal detonator and left him for dead so he could claim the reward for Solo alone. The ex-soldier survived, though, and was "rescued" by Darth Vader, rebuilt, and put back into service for the Empire. Needless to say, he's bound to want revenge for what Fett did.
4. Jas Emari
Introduced in various novels released by the Disney-owned Lucasfilm, Jas Emari is a Zabrak bounty hunter who switched sides during the Battle of Endor and stopped working with the Empire.
The niece of Sugi, a bounty hunter during the Clone Wars, Jas would ultimately become something of a hero by hunting Imperial fugitives on behalf of the New Republic. She even received recognition for her role in the Battle of Jakku, but how could her story tie into The Book of Boba Fett?
Well, Boba did a lot of work for Darth Vader and the Empire before Emperor Palpatine's death, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that he'd come under fire from someone like Jas. Working for the Hutts could be just the excuse she needs to take down an enemy of the New Republic...
3. Triple-Zero And BT-1
Triple-Zero was a protocol droid designed to specialize in etiquette, customs, translation and torture. Initially dispatched by Darth Vader, the demented droid would later become an ally to Doctor Aphra. Joining him in combat was a homicidal BT-1 assassin droid created by the Empire's Tarkin Initiative, and we'd love to see these two show up in The Book of Boba Fett as bounty hunters.
BT-1 was destroyed by Vader, but his processor core was saved, so a return isn't out of the question. Both he and Triple-Zero have crossed paths with Black Krrsantan in the past, meaning a team-up - or battle to be first to kill Fett - could be a focal point of at least one episode.
Triple-Zero and BT-1 are deserving of a live-action debut. It's debatable whether this is the right place to make it happen, but we wouldn't be against it. Ultimately, it might be best to wait until Doctor Aphra appears, though the stage could quite easily be set for that with these cameos.
2. Cad Bane
Following his animated appearances, Cad Bane has become a fan-favourite bounty hunter in the Star Wars Universe. He's extremely good at his job and has history with the Hutts after rescuing Ziro from a highly guarded prison on Coruscant. With that in mind, Jabba's cousins enlisting him after Black Krrsantan potentially fails to take down Fett would make a whole lot of sense.
With Bane, we're talking about someone who has infiltrated the Jedi Archives and held his own against everyone from Obi-Wan Kenobi to Ahsoka Tano and the team known as the Bad Batch.
If we were choosing how this should go, Cad Bane will only briefly cross paths with Boba Fett in order to set the stage for a much bigger conflict with Tatooine's crimelord down the line. A battle between them in the season finale of The Book of Boba Fett would be nothing short of epic, though.
1. Bossk
We had to include one icon, so who better than Bossk? Like Boba Fett, he became a fan-favourite after appearing in The Empire Strikes Back and was later fleshed out in The Clone Wars. Despite being an ally to Boba, money talks, and that could lead to them being pitted against each other.
As a Trandoshan, he's a natural hunter, and The Book of Boba Fett has already made a point of highlighting his alien race. While most of the bounty hunters listed here could be hired by Jabba the Hutt's cousins to try and take out Tatooine's new ruler, what if Bossk shows up as an ally to Fett?
That would be the sort of team-up fans have been dreaming of seeing in live-action for years. He'd be a formidable ally to Lord Fett and a character we'd like to spend more time with.
