Bounty hunter Cad Bane made his live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett, and while he was bested by his former protégé, the villain made quite the impact in a fairly short space of time.

Now, TV and Film Specialty Costume Builder and Prop Maker Javier G González has shared some behind-the-scenes photos revealing the work that went into adapting the character from animation.

Fans have been desperate to see Bane make his live-action debut for quite a while now, and it didn't disappoint. Some have argued that he could have looked a little closer to what we've seen in shows like Star Wars Rebels and The Bad Batch, but that honestly feels like nitpicking (especially when Corey Burton was once again enlisted to provide the ruthless bounty hunter's voice).

"I was a little intimidated at first since the only reference I could find was the animated series," González admitted. "We had to think different in order to bring him to life. Shawna's drive to deliver the best under the extreme circumstances of 'TV' schedule was a challenge we all accepted. Thank you for allowing me to model, sculpt, prototype, mold and finish the hard parts for this guy!"

A lot of work clearly went into creating Bane's live-action appearance, and it's always fascinating to receive this sort of insight into the "making-of" process. While González worked on the costume, he didn't contribute to the makeup effects, so here's hoping that side of things is also showcased soon.

I haven't watched the animated shows so I didn't have his history going into the show but I really liked his introduction.

I was really disappointed with his demise. I feel like he would have been a great prodding force to various protagonists and be potentially be hired by Thrawn.

@Evansly - I did watch the animated shows, and I didn't even remember he was supposed to have met Boba.

The problem is they totally wasted him. He could have been an amazing foil for Boba as a reminder of who he used to be, and they only introduced him in the last two episodes. Such a disappointing end.

He was awesome and they did a great job bringing him to life. Now they'll probably have to bring him back to life because his appearance was so popular lol!

Maybe it was a Cad Bane clone who died.

Having not seen this character in anything else I did find it funny that from my perspective he had the same arc as Boba did originally. Shows up, you’re suppose to think he’s bad ass, then he dies unceremoniously having done nothing of note.

Love how he looked. Something made him look truly alien, even for SW
