CASSIAN ANDOR: Jimmy Smits And Alistair Petrie Rumored To Reprise ROGUE ONE Roles In Disney+ TV Series

According to a new report shared by Bespin Bulletin, Jimmy Smits and Alistair Petrie are both in talks to reprise their Rogue One: A Star Wars Story roles in the Cassian Andor TV series coming to Disney+.

Smith obviously played Bail Organa in the Star Wars prequels before returning for that spinoff, and as Alderaan's Senator and the adoptive father of Leia Organa, there's a lot of gaps an appearance here could fill in (it certainly opens the door to an appearance from a younger version of the Princess).

As for Petrie, he made his debut in a Galaxy Far, Far Away in Rogue One as General Draven.

A General in the Rebel Alliance, he was there when Jyn Erso was recruited to steal the Death Star plans, and ended up playing a pivotal role throughout the movie. If these claims are accurate, they won't be the first Rogue One actors to return for Cassian Andor as both Genevieve O'Reilly (Mon Mothma) and Alan Tudyk (K2SO) have signed on to the highly anticipated TV show.

How do you guys feel about this news?

What about Grand Moff Tarkin?

@MasterMix - a few scenes in a movie is one thing, a tv series might be a bit much, at some point just recast

@MasterMix - I think those few scenes were controversial enough.

I don’t get the hate for Tarkin in R1. The CGI looked good (much better than Leia). So much so that I watched the movie with someone who was very surprised to learn that Peter Cushing was still alive.

Jimmy Smits always know there’s a secure bag with Star Wars

@BlackBeltJones - With how the franchise is going, who knows how long that will be true

@dracula - Nah, I feel there's hope on the tv side of shit, tv wise its an easy bag

@BlackBeltJones - All they need to do now is shoot the scene with Smits as he witnesses the death star above his planet as a big green laser destroys his planet. I would love to see the look on his face as the Death Star fires down to him.

Then all we need is Erin Kellyman as Enfys Nest and this show is ready to go.

@TheUnworthyThor - Well nothing in solo was bad, the plot was just average, so yeah if they want to bring in solo characters, why not

Bring Cad Bane into live action

cool scene, but just retcon it, they are obviously never gonna complete it and maybe at some point do that story in another project like mandalorian

@TheJustinHammer - Yeah killing him would be fine, but don't you want to actually see the story told instead of just his death scene. Doesn't have to be in Mandalorian, but would be nice to see it in something

@TheJustinHammer - You can watch the whole story with unfinished animation? All ive ever seen is this part. Where can I find it

@dracula - Seems like they repurposed this for Solo. It's a shame since the similarity might deter them from doing this officially in some form.

The last good Star Wars movie.

Thank god for The Mandalorion

@soberchimera - I love Return Of The Jedi as well.

But when you think of everything that came after, then after Rogue One.

Rogue One was good man,I enjoyed most of the movie but loved the last 50 minutes.

Who is producing this particular piece of work. I wonder if it is Kathleen Kennedy's crew or the Favreau Gang.

@Goldboink - You realize that they're the same group, right?

@SerKurtWagner -
Yes I do but there are factions. Most of the projects that Kennedy oversaw underperformed. Favreau and his Mandalorian cohorts are vying for control of the SW universe, or at least part of it.
SerKurtWagner

@Goldboink - That's not at all how this works, though. Kennedy is an Executive Producer on this show like everything else, and specifically got Filoni involved. Favreau doesn't have "control" over anything beyond his own show, and none of his roles are "competing" with Kennedy's authority.

These are the extra goodies for this era of Star Wars.

EVERYONE is basically alive and active.

Anyone really can appear.

I was REALLY hoping to get Smits back as Bail, so this makes me super happy. Now let's just get Enfys Nest back onboard.

Alright this guy seems to have some credit to his sources, but I still don't believe it until Lucasfilm confirms it. Even if these are no-brainers for appearances

If we could go ahead and get some Alderaan and Ahsoka love in this show I’d be ok with that.
