OBI-WAN KENOBI: Major SPOILERS Revealed For A Big Darth Vader Fight Scene In The STAR WARS TV Series

A new Obi-Wan Kenobi rumour reveals details on a massive Darth Vader fight sequence that's set to take place in the Star Wars series coming to Disney+, and believe us when we say this will blow your mind!

Hayden Christensen will reprise the role of Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and it's fair to say the vast majority of fans are hoping Anakin Skywalker will once again cross paths with his former Master. While we'd previously been led to believe that A New Hope was the first time these two had clashed since Revenge of the Sith, it appears that's not the case after all.

Making Star Wars is reporting that a Kenobi and Vader rematch will play out in the Disney+ series. Unlike the relatively tame effort in that original Star Wars movie, this one sounds absolutely epic.

Here's a rundown of details from the site:

  • The Obi-Wan Kenobi in this series will be at the peak of his Jedi powers rather than the hermit who'd let his abilities fade in A New Hope
  • Obi-Wan is on a rescue mission to save someone from the Inquisitors, and his success forces Darth Vader to take action
  • We see the Sith Lord on Mustafar as he rises from his throne and pilots his TIE Fighter to Kenobi's location
  • Wearing a similar costume to the one in Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan is now "a little older, a little more tattered. Like an ageing gunslinger, his swagger remains the same as it ever was"
  • Face to face, Obi-Wan realises who is in Vader's suit. Just as the battle is about to begin, the Jedi Master unleashes a powerful Force blast that sends the villain flying up to 50 feet away
  • Vader isn't deterred, and an epic battle follows

According to the site - a reliable source for Star Wars news - Christensen wasn't in the suit for this particular scene as various stunt performers were used. Reportedly taking two weeks to shoot, it's said to be a "massive" sequence that is sure to make fans of these characters very happy indeed.

Rumour has it Obi-Wan Kenobi will arrive on Disney+ next May, so we'll hopefully have more details to share with you soon. In the meantime, there's no denying these new details are beyond exciting.

Glad Christensen is reprising the role. I wasn't crazy about his performance in the second episode of the prequel trilogy, but ROS showed he could give a great performance with some good material.

Obi-Wan is on a rescue mission to save someone from the Inquisitors,

Well, no one expects the Sith Inquisition.

After that hallway scene in Rogue One, I definitely want to see more of Vader in his prime kicking ass and showing how powerful and scary he can be.

If true; I hope this doesn’t take away anything from A New Hope. I always liked the parallels of Anakin facing Kenobi at his best vs Vader facing Kenobi at his worst.

@Waddles - I don’t know, Vader in ANH was able to sense Obi-Wan’s presence after years of not seeing him in a ship approaching the Death Star, I doubt he’d not be able to feel him in the force hiding behind a mask, especially if this Obi-Wan is supposed to be the most strongest connected to the force.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - The very fact that they’re fighting at all takes away from both ANH and RotS, though.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - my thoughts exactly and if anything, Vader’s line about when the way last met from ANH may have new meaning with this series. I am extremely, albeit cautiously, optimistic.

@grif - Their original fight in Star Wars was the way it was due to the limitations of the time.
It did remind me of a samurai fight between to masters.

@marvel72 - Tbh it was still pretty bad even for 1977 standards. There are plenty of action movies/martial arts movies etc of the time that had fight choreography that was 1000x better.

@Boyle360 - I think having Alec Guniness actually do the duel is part of the problem because he is no spring chicken.

@marvel72 - That certainly didn't help. But he had a hood on for the fight, so they should have used a stunt man for most of it.

"When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the Master."

"Except for that other time we met."

"But I was still learning."

"Obviously, since you didn't even think to look into my mind to find out about Luke and Leia."

"Wait, what?"

"I WAS STILL THE MASTER."

If they want to do Obi Wan vs Vader it needs to be dream sequences representing his guilt for A. Letting Anakin go down that path and B. His unwillingness to kill him when he had the chance.

I'd have loved to see a Kenobi only 5-10 years after ROTS where he is actively dealing with Shaken faith and is nearly cut off from the force until he's forces to save a Very Young Luke from Gangsters and goes on a road trip with Owen where we get to learn more about why Owen hates Obi Wan and how Owen comes to convince Obi that Luke is better off knowing nothing of his real father. Ending the season with Kenobi realizing that his mistakes were the will of the force and is guided by Qui-Gon to once again let the force flow through him and restoring his mindset and giving him a new Mission, to train Luke when the time comes to build back the Jedi Order to help the rebellion against the Empire.

I hope it won't be episodes of 25 minutes with 15minutes end credits...

I really want the 45-60 minutes format (End Credits not included).
