OBI-WAN KENOBI: New Details On Indira Varma's Role And How She Ties To A Familiar Group Of Rebels

It was seventeen years before the events of A New Hope and, more specifically, the Battle of Yavin that the group known as the Partisans helped hide Galen Erso and his family from the Empire. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we'd learn what had become of Saw Garrera's Rebels, but while he had lost his way, his actions were still crucial in helping ensure the Death Star's eventual destruction.

We'll be spending more time with that group in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Making Star Wars is reporting that Indira Varma's character will be crucial in better exploring their role in this Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The Game of Thrones alum's unnamed character is an Imperial Officer, but she defects before being relocated by the Partisans after the Empire asks her to do something she feels is a step too far. Kumail Nanjiani is also one of the Partisans, and this Disney+ series will explore what sort of impact they had on the Galaxy beyond the fanaticism that eventually took hold of Clone Wars hero Saw.

The site notes that Saw won't appear here, though his Partisans (clearly spread across the entire Galaxy) are key to the story. As for Varma's character, it's said that she has a "profound" effect on Kenobi that eventually plays a role in his victory, so we are curious to find out what exactly that means.

Regardless, Lucasfilm is clearly doing a lot to drive home the fact that these Partisans are important to what's happened in the Galaxy and that their actions, directly or otherwise, were ultimately crucial to the Empire's defeat. With that in mind, we could start to see a lot more of these guys moving forward.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27.

Indira Varma, I've always loved that woman. Will be nice to see her in this even if she appears to be one of the evil ones.

OT: Aquaman is f*****.

Amber's legal team is looking like some clowns this whole case. Getting ate alive the whole trial.

She basically kicked Johnny's ass. Evidence shows he never hit back. Aquaman is about to be screwed if they don't recast or delete the part.

Heard is quickly becoming public enemy #1. And that's before the case ends. After when she loses which she certainly will people will be boycotting Aquaman 2 is she's in it. Believe she is every bit the trash people say she is

Her behavior us truly sickining. Deserves the hate.

@Dope21 - But she showed a whatsapp message where he admited he hitted her, and he told Paul Bettany that he was going to "beat her to death", and then "rape her corpse".
I'm not defending her, but both of them are SICK.

And she should've been racasted a long time ago, she has no chemistry with Jason Momoa.

@TheHumanSpider2 - those messages were before they got married. Don't really hold up considering they were from long to a friend after a fight.

People say a lot of things to friends in anger.

Her audio tape hears her clearly gaslighting Johnny saying "her hits don't count because she's a woman" that she he hits him but it doesn't matter.

And yep your an idiot

@TheHumanSpider2 - For a while, I was on team “they were both equally abusive” but the recent trial has me changing my view tbh. Amber Heard has now been accused of being abusive towards her assistant and belittling Paul Bettany’s son to the point of tears, withholding prescribed detox medication when Depp was going through withdrawl, not to mention the audios of admitting to hitting Depp and trying to discredit Depp being a DV victim based on gender. I think a messed up text between two friends about a person you both hate is nothing compared to the actual shit that person put you through. There’s also her own texts with her friend about “threatening his life” involving pictures of knives. With everything coming out I think its redundant to say both were abusive.

@aurorsand146 - Yeah, she definitely sounds like a..."c word", but that doesnt excuse him.
I think both of them are sick, although she seems to have a problem with eveybody, not just Johnny.

I think both their careers are over.

@Dope21 - I'm not following the trial at all, but I did saw the clip about hearsay. Hearsay really seems to Heard's lawyers' go-to thing to say

With the amount of details that have come out from this show, I hope there are any surprises left.

I know there will be suprises for me since I so far resisted the temptation to read them all, but I don't think it's a good thing for a show to have so many much spilled beforehand.
