OBI-WAN KENOBI's Fifth Episode Featured Some Of The Most Badass Darth Vader Scenes Ever Seen - SPOILERS

With the benefit of modern technology, Obi-Wan Kenobi has delivered a Darth Vader in beast mode, and that led to some of the Star Wars franchise's most badass moments in yesterday's Obi-Wan Kenobi...

The Darth Vader we met in the original Star Wars trilogy was terrifying, but the technological limitations of the time meant that there was only so much George Lucas could do. However, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we finally got to see a fully unleashed version of the Sith Lord as he tore through the Rebels who stood in his way of the stolen Death Star plans.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has taken things to the next level, and this week's episode saw a display of power that should make Star Wars fans very happy indeed.

Taking aim at Obi-Wan and the Rebels attempting to flee Jabiim, Vader uses the Force to pull a starship out of the sky and back down to the planet's surface (it's a little smaller in scale than The Force Unleashed, but still reminiscent of that moment). He then tears a hole in the side of the ship, only to realise he's been duped as the one with our heroes on board flies away and manages to escape.

Things get even more badass for Vader later in the episode when he faces Reva (you can read more about that here). The Sith Lord wields two lightsabers at one point for a battle we can only assume will be played on repeat by fans of this character for the next week. He also uses the Force alone to fend off Reva's lightsaber strikes, reminding us exactly how powerful Anakin has become.

Needless to say, we expect to see the increasingly unhinged Vader continue to let loose in next week's finale, especially as his obsession to kill Obi-Wan continues to consume him.

What did you think about yesterday's episode of the Disney+ series?

The way he fought without a saber was more impressive than the Force Unleashed move

@GhostDog - He toyed with her like she was nothing...cuz she was compared to him. Goodbye...grand inquisitor. Also, I guess 1 stomach is good for the physique, eh?

Yes, yes it did. It was an excellent episode. It was amazing to see Force Unleashed Vader.

I'm not sure anything will top Rogue One's Vader scene, but the last part of this episode was Vader at some of his best.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Man, this, Rogue One, and his scene in Fallen Order. Star Wars has had so many great characters and moments since it’s inception, but nothing beats Vader. To only be a fly on the wall when the character first stepped on set and probably no one being able to fathom the icon that was just created.

@DTor91 - totally agree.

They tried to come up with someone to "replace" Vader with Kylo Ren, but that obviously did not pan out.

@HeavyMetal4Life - the Vader RO scene is the best, even if IMO it's kinda out of character seeing him using the saber against non-force users.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Ah yes, emo Ren. Not sure why they tried to do that given his arc in the films...or wait, the plan, there was no plan.

@The1st - haha yeah, what plan!?! Lol. I actually liked his storyline in The Last Jedi, but his arc (and writing) in TFA and TROS are trash.

@HeavyMetal4Life - truth. Adam Driver still carried the hell out of his character though in all the movies.

Wish we got the Duel of the Fates with him being the main antagonist. I’m still on the fence if he should have still be redeemed in that treatment.

Him disrespecting Reva was awesome. But I truly felt sorry for her character. She knew she couldn't beat him, still tried, failed and then suffered the same fate she did as a youngling.

Also, with rumors of there being more Vader content after this season, I really hope we get a spinoff Vader/Starkiller series.

The Vader stuff has been the best stuff on this otherwise trash show.

Maybe if she didn’t yell after sneaking up to hit him she would have had a better chance. And why did she swing at him why not just walk up, point the saber at his back then turn it on? 🤷‍♂️

@AnthonyVonGeek - Obi-Wan's plan to take on Vader:

"You do it lol."

Admittedly a very great scene.

Obi-Wan also proves to be more cunning than in previous episodes. Obi-Wan knows he can't defeat Vader, but he knows how his former Padawan thinks. Obi-Wan knows Anakin's weakness.

Regardless of this shows flaws or weaknesses, my appetite for more content related to the prequels and the original trilogy is insatiable. That said, my desire to consume any content related to the sequel trilogy is beyond nonexistent.

SW is such an amazing intellectual property and has soo much potential, if only the right decisions were made.

Mini rant over
