The Darth Vader we met in the original Star Wars trilogy was terrifying, but the technological limitations of the time meant that there was only so much George Lucas could do. However, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we finally got to see a fully unleashed version of the Sith Lord as he tore through the Rebels who stood in his way of the stolen Death Star plans.
Obi-Wan Kenobi has taken things to the next level, and this week's episode saw a display of power that should make Star Wars fans very happy indeed.
Taking aim at Obi-Wan and the Rebels attempting to flee Jabiim, Vader uses the Force to pull a starship out of the sky and back down to the planet's surface (it's a little smaller in scale than The Force Unleashed, but still reminiscent of that moment). He then tears a hole in the side of the ship, only to realise he's been duped as the one with our heroes on board flies away and manages to escape.
Things get even more badass for Vader later in the episode when he faces Reva (you can read more about that here). The Sith Lord wields two lightsabers at one point for a battle we can only assume will be played on repeat by fans of this character for the next week. He also uses the Force alone to fend off Reva's lightsaber strikes, reminding us exactly how powerful Anakin has become.
Needless to say, we expect to see the increasingly unhinged Vader continue to let loose in next week's finale, especially as his obsession to kill Obi-Wan continues to consume him.
