James Mangold
(Ford vs, Ferrari, Logan) has taken to Twitter to debunk the rumor that he directed sequences for the second season of
The Mandalorian.
The report came from the guys at the Black Series Rebels show who have broken some solid scoops in the past, so a lot of sites
(including us) ran with it as a rumor. However, Mangold has now responded to a Tweet from director Ron Howard by shooting down the story outright.
It was announced that Mangold would likely be replacing Steven Spielberg as director on
Indiana Jones 5 earlier that same day, so it's possible BSR simply got their wires crossed.
Howard's Tweet would seem to confirm that his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, is indeed back behind the camera, however. There's also a chance that Robert Rodriquez did visit the set to shoot some scenes for an episode of the Disney+
Star Wars series, but we wouldn't count on it.
