Way back in 1978, John Williams' work on Star Wars earned him an Oscar for "Best Music, Original Score." Now, over four decades later, Ludwig Göransson has won an Emmy for "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series" thanks to his incredible work on season one of The Mandalorian. 

Now, the composer is nearing "EGOT" status after winning an Emmy for the Disney+ series, an Oscar for Black Panther, and a Grammys for Childish Gambino's This Is America and Black Panther.

Now, he just needs to win a Tony to complete the set! 

Göransson returned to compose the score for season two of The Mandalorian as well, while his work could recently be heard in Christopher Nolan's Tenet. We don't know what's next for him beyond that, but he's almost certainly one of the most in-demand composers now working in Hollywood today.

Love Ludwig's work.

After my 5th viewing of Tenet yesterday, the score was still pounding in my chest the same way as it did after my 1st one.

I loved it from my very 1st viewing, but 2nd and 3rd viewings really brought the magic and helped me piece the small details together.

That's impressive, and deserved. He is probably my favorite composer working right now (together with Mark Mothersbaugh and Michael Giacchino)

Ludwig is quickly becoming a GOAT. I love that for him. His "Fruitvale Station" score is underrated.

It would seem pretty unlikely that he would ever win a Tony Award - doing a Broadway musical just seems like a very hard pivot for him to make.

Great for him. Although I doubt he'd try to go for the Tony but you never know. Iirc, most EGOT holders start off in Broadway
