Ahsoka Tano has finally come to live-action thanks to The Mandalorian, and it's fair to say that the Disney+ TV series - and actress Rosario Dawson - did The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels character justice.

While the episode ended with Ahsoka heading down her own path (separate to the one Din Djarin and Grogu are on), there's understandably a lot of excitement to see more of her in this series or another live-action spinoff. However, something that many fans of the Jedi have pointed out since Friday is the fact that her head tails have been shortened.

In the aforementioned animated TV shows, Tano's "lekku" were quite a bit longer, and while the visuals in those series were heavily stylised, the change was still jarring for some.

Now, one of The Mandalorian's concept designers, Brian Matyas, has shed some light on why that change was made. As you can see below, he explains that Ahsoka's head tails were the "chief concern" for those working on the hit show, and it appears the main reason was because they needed to design this live-action take "with consideration for stunts and movement."

This really isn't the end of the world, of course, but it's good to get an explanation - especially when it makes perfect sense. Let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section below!

Makes sense. Probably why she held both sabers the the way she did too until the end of the fight. It's probably far more difficult to hold them way Ahsoka does in animation and have it feel natural for the actor make it look realistic.

Again, the Rebels Vader looked like a Ralph McQuarrie sketch. It's a cartoon, it can look cartoony. Some things need to be adjusted in live action. I swear people focus on the dumbest shit lol

@Dredd97 - Yeah it really feels like people can't leave well-enough alone. This just nitpicking IMO. Not like all the movie characters match their Clone Wars designs either.

You can also tell the lightsabers are the new versions and not the old school style they used in the prequels. They look heavier than prequel lightsabers. They don't have the weightless look that I expected with Ahsoka movement. Not a real complaint though

I wasn't too bothered by the tail length, they just looked a bit foamy to me. Wonder why they didn't go for CG (maybe they spent the CG budget on the Krayt dragon?).

Wow, it's barely been 2 days and the spoilers are already on this site. I kinda figured she was in this episode anyway. Just didn't think I'd see the photos of her too. Oh well.
