The Mandalorian's second season didn't shy away from delivering some big, jaw-dropping surprises. However, for longtime fans of the Star Wars franchise, the Dark Troopers making their live-action debut was one of the most welcome. Reimagined as Moff Gideon's private army, most (all?) of them may have ultimately been destroyed by Luke Skywalker, but there's nothing to say they couldn't return.

For now, Hot Toys' incredible new action figure should keep us going, and it offers a much closer look at these formidable droids (which were brought to life on screen through a mix of practical and visual effects based on what we saw in Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian on Christmas Day).

The 1/6th scale Dark Trooper collectible figure is skilfully crafted, and features highly detailed helmet and mechanical armor parts, specially applied black armor painting, LED light up functions, a blaster, and a display base! As you can see in the images shared below, fans of The Mandalorian will be able to have fun pitting them against both Luke and Din Djarin.

As per usual, we don't have a confirmed release date for the figure, and it'll probably be a long time before it becomes available to buy. We'll keep you updated on that front.

Take a look through these shots of Hot Toys' Dark Trooper below:

*droid dubstep intensifies*¨

they were really cool, and probably haven't seen the last of them. but the moment I realized these guys were droids I knew they were there to be sliced up in a blazing display of jedi supremacy....I just didn't know it was going to be Luke.

Evil Emperor Zurg!
In all seriousness, they were pretty cool. A slight deviation from the EU designs, but still recognizable. Wonder if there's any more

I’m sorry, but the dark troopers were pretty lame and Peyton Reed’s crappy directing didn’t make their demise all that cool either.
