THE MANDALORIAN: Jack Black Shares Behind The Scenes Photos Of His STAR WARS Character Captain Bombardier

We definitely weren't expecting to see Jack Black in the latest episode of The Mandalorian, and the actor has now shared some photos from his time spent in this Galaxy Far, Far Away alongside Lizzo...

In Wednesday's episode of The Mandalorian, "Guns For Hire," we paid a visit to Outer Rim planet Plazir-15.

Ruled over by The Duchess, a member of the world's royal family, we learned that she had fallen in love with a former Imperial called Captain Bombardier. He took part in the New Republic's Amnesty Program and managed to find redemption, proving that many who participate in that have greater ambitions than bringing back what used to be.

What's been making headlines, of course, is the fact Plazir-15's rulers were played by Grammy-winner Lizzo and The Super Mario Bros. Movie star Jack Black.

Both are undeniably hilarious in their respective roles, though we've done some digging, and neither character appears to have any sort of connection to those already established elsewhere in Star Wars canon. That could always be changed down the line, of course!

Comment On Their Cameos In "Guns For Hire" - SPOILERS

Now, Black has shared some new behind-the-scenes photos (via SFFGazette.com) from his time on set, offering a new look at his and Lizzo's respective characters in costume.

We're sure they'll both have more to say about their trip to this Galaxy Far, Far Away in the days and weeks ahead, and you can find a full breakdown of today's cameos by clicking here.

Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard returned to The Mandalorian to helm this episode, but it wasn't her strongest effort. Many fans have compared "Guns For Hire" to the prequels...and not in a particularly flattering manner! We'd say that's a little harsh, but it was definitely a goofy diversion and one that came as surprise at such a late point in the show's third season.

What did you think about the latest episode of The Mandalorian?

This Lizzo chick looks like she is trying to be the next Queen amadala but lacks the quality materials the prequels had for their ridiculous costumes that still made them look believable

These two dont look like they belong in star wars, they look more like they belong in a scifi parody like galaxy quest or orville.

As out of place as the teenage bikers with attitude from Book of Fett

@dracula - The episode intentionally called back to the prequels several times. I think they are setting something up.

@dracula - Maybe that was the point? I liked that it was a little different. Look back at the original trilogy - plenty of odd moments/characters. Its a whole universe and the fact that they explored something a little different and odd was a great change of pace for me. A filler episode, yeah - of course! But I don't see them as any different then the 1 shots in comic books that separate core stories. This is part of why I love this show!

"Both are undeniably hilarious in their respective roles"

Well that's opinion in an "News" story.

Get rid of this entire part "Both are undeniably hilarious in their respective roles, though we've done some digging, and" and that paragraph is just fine on it's own.

"Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard returned to The Mandalorian to helm this episode, but it wasn't her strongest effort. Many fans have compared "Guns For Hire" to the prequels...and not in a particularly flattering manner! We'd say that's a little harsh, but it was definitely a goofy diversion and one that came as surprise at such a late point in the show's third season."

This is ALL opinion.

Better written "Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard returned to the Mandalorian to helm this episode. While many fans have offered some harsh criticism online including comparing "Guns for Hire" to the prequels the episode offered a look at a different part of the Star Wars universe than we as fans are used to seeing.

Something like that would make it better.

@KaptainKhaos - Ah the goal of Hollywood productions in 2023 "make dudes angry" like a disgruntled bitch who sends her ex videos of herself getting plowed by a new guy to illicit anger and jealousy but all it really does is confirm their decision and create apathy and disappointment.

@KaptainKhaos - You guys would be willing to watch beloved franchises burn to the ground just to make the die hard fans upset. That sentiment which a disdain for the fans is killing Hollywood as we speak.

@Lilvic92 - I mean, yeah it is funny watching 35-50yr old die hard fans get upset over movies and shows they can literally choose not to watch. It's like watching someone get hit in the face with a dodgeball, shits funny

This episode felt more like A Wrinkle In Time instead of Star Wars.
Terrible episode.
Mandalorian was the only thing in Star Wars left that I truly enjoyed but this season has been bad. Doesn’t even feel like Jon and Dave’s show anymore, feels more like a Kathleen Kennedy show. 🤷‍♂️

This episode felt like a vanity episode. Immersion-breaking stunt castings galore, questionable acting by everyone the entire episode, fan fiction level dialog and plot thread resolutions.... this episode was probably my least favorite episode for the entire series of The Mandalorian. Which surprises me considering this episode was directed by BDH, who has directed some of my favorite recent Star Wars.

Feels like she was just too nice and didn't push people for great takes and was just having a blast on set, but not taking the work SERIOUSLY if that makes sense.

The entire internet noticed the dip.

@TheyDont - there are states to be in which are unhealthy, yes, but there are also just naturally and genetically variations in size, shape and how people do or do not put on weight. Myself for example it's very hard to gain weight, while others naturally are a lot more heavy set.
Both can be unhealthy. Hell, six packs abs aren't even healthy per se.
