THE MANDALORIAN: Rosario Dawson's Role As Ahsoka Tano Could Span Multiple STAR WARS TV Shows

This is very much a rumour for now, but a new report doing the rounds claims that Rosario Dawson may have signed a contract which will see her play Ahsoka Tano in more than just The Mandalorian season 2...

With Hollywood currently on lockdown due to COVID-19, the number of online rumours and scoops doing the rounds has greatly decreased. However, The Direct is now claiming that their "contributing insider Daniel Richtman" has learned that Rosario Dawson has signed a multi-show deal which would allow her to play Ahsoka Tano in more than just The Mandalorian's second season.

Before we go any further, though, it's important to take this with a pinch of salt.

For starters, we're talking about a newly launched website, and most importantly, Richtman does tend to be a little hit and miss every now and again. Plus, this definitely feels like another of those so-called "scoops" that, honestly, is based more on common sense than anything else!

We'll obviously have to wait and see, but we're not totally writing this one off as would make sense. Lucasfilm would be crazy not to lock Dawson in for more than just an appearance on The Mandalorian, and there have already been rumblings about her starring in a series of her own. The character is crazy popular, and one with a ton of potential.

The site notes that, "This is not a confirmation that Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano will indeed appear in other Disney+ shows, rather, that Lucasfilm is potentially interested in having her character make future appearances in other shows, thus including this clause in the contract."

In other words, it's too soon to start getting excited about what this could all be leading to. However, you have to believe that Ahsoka has a bright future on Disney+ - assuming Dawson's take on the fan-favourite Jedi Knight is well-received by fans.

What are your thoughts on this rumour?

First Rosario was the connective tissue for marvel Netflix now she's the star in star wars. Go crazy

Great. I was never in love with the character (she has a cool dynamic with Vader, and it's nice to see a force user who has come out the other side of Jedi training jaded by the Order but not "fallen to the dark side").

I'm hoping Dawson and doing it in live action can put some meat on the character's bones for me, and open up some weird tangents in the Force that aren't the same old Jedi/Sith dynamic.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - I'd much rather get a great show later than a rushed show now.

I hope she shows up early on in the season. It’d be a shame if she just cameos in the last episode to hype up season 3.

Reminds me of her role in the Marvel Netflix shows.

Dawson's Night Nurse should have been a better fit for Benedict's Doc Strange instead of Rachel McAddam's

I like Dawson but really grew to dislike her Marvel/Netflix character quickly and the “connecting tissue” began taking away from the various series she popped up in. Which was all of them.

I would like to think Disney will not mess things up but Disney seems to have a love/hate thing going for that galaxy far, far away.

@lawndart - I think the idea of the Night Nurse conective character was right but they did not developed her character in a way that would fit naturally, Ben Urich, Elektra, Misty Knight, Karen Page, Mary Walker, Melvin Potter etc.should have been better options in that role.

@YonnyLayna - perhaps and Misty would have been my choice considering the police would be involved with many of the plot points in all of the shows.
