During a panel at Brazil's Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) on Thursday evening, a new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 was shown to those fortunate enough to be in attendance.
As of now, it hasn't been released online, though there's always a chance it could leak considering how many other photos and videos have been shared from the event on social media. In the meantime, we have a description of that footage from Collider (via SFFGazette.com), with the site confirming it was an extended version of the footage released during Star Wars Celebration.
"The trailer also provides a quick glimpse of Coruscant," they reveal, "monkey lizards, and teases several Mandolorians working together."
"Grogu also is going to keep exploring the Force, as he’s shown pushing a figure out of a cave. Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff) confronts the Mandalorian about his absence during the war and lays out his honorless future."
The biggest talking point here has to be the fact we're heading back to Coruscant. Outside of stories set between the prequels and original trilogy, we haven't visited the planet since Revenge of the Sith, and still don't know what became of the Jedi Temple once Emperor Palpatine took control of his new Empire.
Flashbacks in The Mandalorian have shown that someone rescued Grogu from the Temple during Order 66, so perhaps we'll finally learn how he escaped the planet and certain death at the hands of those Clone Troopers.
It would be pretty good fun to head to the planet post-Return of the Jedi, anyway, especially as we have to believe Coruscant changed greatly when no longer under the Empire's rule. Had Colin Trevorrow helmed Episode IX, then titled Duel of the Fates, we'd have seen an uprising on the planet, learning that the Temple had become home to those hoping to Rebel against the First Order.
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
