A handful of stills from The Mandalorian were released on Friday, but we now have a new batch which highlight some key moments. As you might expect, it's Boba Fett who mostly receives the spotlight, though poor Grogu is put in some dire situations thanks to Moff Gideon and his Dark Troopers.
During a recent interview with Games Radar, Rodriguez revealed that he was brought in to direct "The Tragedy" relatively late, and only because another, unnamed director had dropped out.
"I’m friends with Jon Favreau and he needed a last-minute replacement for a director and so I said, ‘Sure, I'll come play in the Star Wars universe!’ What a dream," the filmmaker said. "It’s beyond my expectations, I mean, it was so fun, you can’t imagine what it's like to walk on a set that has the classic look of The Empire Strikes Back feel and look. It’s right after that era, right after the Return of the Jedi. It's that era. So you really feel like you just walked into your childhood."
It may have been a last-minute decision, but Rodriguez proved that he's a great fit for the Star Wars Universe, and it would be great to see him get involved with that rumoured Boba Fett spinoff.
