THE MANDALORIAN: Timothy Olyphant's Cobb Vanth Gets An Official Character Poster

The first Season 2 episode of Disney+'s The Mandalorian aired this past Friday, and we now have a character poster for "The Marshall" the hour was named after, Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant)...

When the news broke that Timothy Olyphant had been cast in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, reports indicated that he'd be playing a character that was introduced in the "New Expanded Universe" Aftermath Trilogy, and that was confirmed when Cobb Vanth made his debut in Friday's season premiere, "The Marshall."

Now, Disney+ has shared an official character poster for the man who's been (foolishly?) walking around in Boba Fett's Mandalorian armor.

After a tense face-off that almost resulted in a firefight, Vanth proved to be valuable ally to Din Djarin, teaming up with the bounty hunter to kill the monstrous Krayt Dragon in order to keep his town safe.

In return for his help, Cobb handed over Fett's armor and the two parted on friendly terms - but we saw the legendary mercenary watching Djarin leave on his speederbike right at the end of the episode.

Will Fett track Vanth down in order to learn more about Djarin and The Child? We can't imagine he'll be too pleased about him donning his armor one way or the other.

Tune in for the still untitled "Chapter 10" this Friday to see what happens, and let us know what you thought of "The Marshall" in the comments.

“Introduced in the now defunct expanded universe...” uuuuh, Cobb Vath was introduced in the aftermath trilogy which is in the new expanded universe. Get your stuff straight, we all know what assuming does.

@RorMachine - lmao thanks, I like the bold, it’s a nice touch 😂 I just want people to know this is more than reintroducing a character to canon but rather it’s the first major inclusion of a character introduced in the new expanded canon. It’s a level of care that Faloni and Faveau have included to the show that pays off the fans who pour over every book and comic that comes out for Star Wars.....it’s VERY gratifying.

Just remake Justified but set on Tatooine. They've already said it's a mining settlement, bring in Walton Goggins as Space Boyd Crowder.

I'm glad I decided to watch one a week instead of binging them all in december, because I would be pissed that Cobb get's mentioned in the title (I though spoiler embargo was two weeks, unless it's stated as a spoiler)

Was his casting announced before the episode aired? I was really surprised when I saw him in this.

I hope they don’t do him like Quill by introducing us to him and getting us to like him then killing him off.
I’d like to see more of him.

I know that Lucas told Filoni to make it so that Jango and Boba weren't really Mandalorian, but come on and just retcon that. It would be way more interesting if they were. especially for story potential in this series.
