THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Has Reportedly Enlisted EXTRACTION Director And MCU Veteran Sam Hargrave

We know some of the directors who are working on The Book of Boba Fett, but a new report claims that Sam Hargrave (Extraction) will also lend his filmmaking skills to The Mandalorian spinoff series...

We're not getting a third season of The Mandalorian this year, with The Book of Boba Fett instead set to serve as a "season 2.5." The show was announced in a post-credits scene featuring Boba making his return to Tatooine alongside Fennec Shand where he gunned down Bib Fortuna and seemingly took over the planet as its new crimelord.

Star Temuera Morrison previously listed Robert Rodriguez, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jon Favreau as being among those directing episodes of the Disney+ series, but The Ronin is reporting that another name can now be added to the list.

Apparently, The Mandalorian season two second unit director Sam Hargrave will helm at least one chapter of The Book of Boba Fett. The site believes he could continue working on that second unit team as well, but it really shouldn't surprise anyone that he's been given his own episode.

After all, Hargrave is a Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran, working on movies like Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame with the Russo Brothers.

The filmmaker would later take the helm of Extraction for Netflix.

Hopefully, we'll get some official news on The Book of Boba Fett soon, and with a December premiere expected, it likely won't be too long until the marketing campaign kicks off. Rumour has it Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin will make a cameo appearance, so the show is going to be essential viewing before The Mandalorian's third season - which is rumoured to be shooting now - arrives in 2022.
