RUMOR: Here's How Tom Holland's Peter Parker Could Fit Into Sony's VENOM Movie

There have been rumours for a while now that Tom Holland's Peter Parker will make some sort of cameo appearance in Venom but a new report sheds some light on how the character might factor into the movie.

We've been hearing for a while now that Venom will feature an appearance from Tom Hardy's Peter Parker despite the fact that the movie reportedly isn't set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, despite Marvel's involvement with Spider-Man these days, Sony still owns the character and the studio can do whatever they please with him. So, how will he potentially factor into this upcoming spinoff?

According to Screen Rant, they've heard that a scene was filmed inside an Atlanta building doubling as the Life Foundation featuring Riz Ahmed's Carlton Drake leading a field trip. While their source didn't see Tom Holland on set, the site believes that this could be where Peter will show up (Venom is set in San Francisco but the youngster's class travelled to Washington in Spider-Man: Homecoming).

The trailer for Venom made it clear that Eddie Brock doesn't gain the symbiote the same way he did in the comic books and that Spider-Man isn't involved with his origin story in any way. With that in mind, this cameo would be absolutely pointless but pretty much what fans have come to expect from producers like Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts below.

That would be a pretty cool cameo, I think. Unlike many others, I will give this movie a chance (I mean, Tom Hardy...) and I don't think Venom needs Spider-Man per se to get a good movie. I consider Venom 'too dark' for the MCU Spider-Man anyway.

That cameo concept sucks. Parker just happens to be in the same building as Venom for no reason. Bleccchhh.

@Unites -
My take on why Parker would make an appearance in Venom and not Spidey is this...
Parker is in San Francisco on a field trip and has to do some super work (but in the shadows as it would be too obvious if Spidey showed up in SF the same time as Parker).
So he does his good deed wearing normal clothes and not necessarily using web shooters as that too would give him away and the only person that sees him is brock and the symbiote.
The question then is why does the symbiote take on the spider identity if it did not see 'spiderman' in action.
Possibly the symbiote can sense that Parker is Spidey after seeing similar acts on the TV news back in New York. The symbiote adopts the persona and Brock then slowly unravels that Parker is Spidey as a byproduct of what the suit did.

@JonC - I like that, would be cool if instead of having his normal clothes he wore a random black suit he found in SF that would look like the one from the comics, and that would later inspire the symbiote to grow the design on Eddie. Would be a cool nod to the source material imo lol

@JonC - They should simply set this in the MCU without mentioning it too much. And yes, Hollands Spidey MUST fight Tom's Venom at some point!

@Unites - Thank you. Tom Hardy usually acts fantastically in anything he's in. Even if this movie is total crap, he will at least give a good performance. Also, Venom is a perfectly complex character to have his own solo movie in my opinion.

If this is set pre-civil war. It could function as to how Peter got bit by the spider.

@StormXmen123 - Absolutely. I think a lot of people are doing nothing but speculating at this point (rightfully so, we haven't seen much of this movie). But at the end of the day I think people might be a little surprised with this movie. Whether or not this takes place in the MCU is kind of a moot point because the deal with Spiderman has always been that he will be re-introduced in the MCU and then continue on his movies at Sony after two Avengers movies I believe. This really has nothing to do with the MCU, and really the MCU isn't needed because there's already a whole universe spider-man has of his own. Venom could still very well be connected to Spider-man sans MCU.

This shouldn't happen and if it does it would be a mistake, but then again so is this movie

I'm thinking Sony will go the Spider-Verse route and make each film happen in a different Universe but maybe bring them all together in an event film if all goes well.

The Miles trailer has already indicated this may be their play.

@crawley - Which means we could see this... Lol

@KWilly - This is the only way that Sony could absolutely crush it. This would cause mass explosions for all Spider-Man fans. It's my understanding that Sony may have access to Spiderman footage from SHC, and only Spiderman. I'm guessing it's things like him eating Chalupa, catching bike thief, catching burglars with lasers and other innocuous stuff. They won't be allowed to use any MCU branded stuff and certainly no characters beyond Spidey. If somehow all 3 show up, in addition to Miles, then Sony has an equally huge story to Infinity War.

@KWilly - if they did this I would freak out. Bring back all 3 Spidey's in one epic multiverse event?? That's breaking new ground! Guaranteed $1 Billion.

Also, guaranteed not to happen, but...we can dream.

@Super12 - I think it could happen based on the fact that it would bring in that amount of money.

While people may dislike some of their films, most people like all the spiderman actors.

@KWilly - Say what you want about the Amazing Spider-Man movies, but Andrew Garfield looked PERFECT as Peter Parker. Like he was ripped right off the page.

I’ve heard that Tom Holland will be playing...movie star Tom Holland on set of a Spider-Man movie filming in San Fran and that’s where the Symbiote gets the idea for the Venom look.

....unless they're building a post-homecoming sequel Spider-Man verse, because the deal with Disney ends after HC2.

Homecoming 3 with Hardy's Venom and Silver Sable/Black Cat appearances would be the absolute best way to keep Sony SM films fresh.

Throw in Ant-Man since they're in San Francisco.
