Excerpt from the IndustryGamers interview:

"I think we're in the space now of building properties that are appealing to people, and there's a version of BioShock that makes a great game and there's probably a version of BioShock that makes a great movie. I think for us as a company, we don't have any need to get a movie made. We'd like to have a movie made, but it would have to be the right one, and we've had the opportunity to get it made and unless all the right pieces are in place – it's hard enough to get a movie made when all the right pieces are in place. If you don't start with the right pieces, you don't have a prayer. We've had a lot of great talks with great people about it. We got close to great people, but you always have to have all of those pieces in place and that's going to be very challenging. It's a moving puzzle, but I'm going to be continually talking to people about it. It's definitely something that's still in the conversation."

LEEE777 - Originally Gore Verbinski was attached and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo at Universal Pictures. If Hollywood can get this right it could be an epic in the making, also Halo already please!

I have played both games to death - they're great.

The Art Deco design is sumptuous and the whole world that's been created in these games begs to be translated to the big screen. Creepy 'Little Sisters' with big, nasty hypodermic syringes sucking the 'Adam' from the recently deceased, protected by their own 'Big Daddies' - it's so cinematic in scope and scale it would take a complete idiot to mess an adaptation of this property up.

But that's the trouble: there are an awful lot of idiots in suits who wouldn't touch this with a very long pole, because of the option in the game to kill these Little Sisters to gain more power.

Try selling THAT to a studio!

Loved both games and can't wait for the third one. Movies based on video games scare me though, But I would love to see a good movie done for this and God of War.

What are the chances that Uwe Boll will pick this up and turn it into a shitfest? I personally wish someone like James Cameron will be good for this kind of project as well as Mass Effect or Halo (though with Halo, a part of me would think Michael Bay might actually work 'coz that guy was gung-ho with the military route with Transformers - if there was a movie that needed a Bay-splosion, Halo would fit right in).

It would make for an awesome movie, if in the right hands.

The first game was amazing, dark, atmospheric and was alot like a movie.
The second was, eh, not so much, but still a good game.

I'd love for Sam Raimi or Guillermo del Toro to direct this.
