"Are you ready to don your red & blue spandex and fight crime via webline? Activision will be announcing a brand new Spider-Man title at this year's WonderCon in California. Details are sparse but we've got all the details that have been released thus far.

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions developer Beenox will be hosting a post launch evaluation panel alongside Marvel VP of games production TQ Jefferson and voice actor Josh Keaton. Beenox is promising exclusive details, screenshots and videos of their next project.

Fans have speculated that the game could take place in the Spider-Man 2099 universe citing the involvement of series creator Peter David. Sony also has a reboot of the Spider-Man film series coming out in 2012. This new game could tie in to the release of the movie as well."

This sounds pretty sweet, especially if it ties in with The Amazing Spider-Man.

Sounds interesting, loved Shattered Dimensions, it's only fault was it's repetitiveness. Seeing as it's the same developer, it might turn out pretty good! :)

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions was a critically acclaimed title? I didn't know that!

And the Spider-Man: 2099 Universe was undoubtedly the most boring part of that game. It's a shame that that's going to be the entire storyline this time around.

Spidey Noir would be pretty bad ass but I think I prefer the free roaming aspect of spidey, they need to bring that back.

If true, I want the game to be much longer, full of great spider-man villains and good cameos but not too many. Also have free city roaming along with mission areas

Make a game that can beat or at least stand proudly next to Arkham Asylum.

These guys know how to make a great Spider-Man game. I'm hoping this new one is free-roaming.

I believe Web Of Shadows is far better than Shattered Dimensions. I hope they go the route they did with Shadows, again. That game was long and engaging almost the whole way through.

free roam is fun for about 10 minutes... remember superman returns?

@Cross- exactly! tone and story are critical to pulling off an epic like that... and using a supposed 'open roam' environment as a vehicle to push that like in Arkham Asylum would work perfectly for spidey

Absolutely hated this game. Well, more accurately Activision, they released an unfinished, buggy super shitty version of the game on to PC. They have a record of not giving a shit when it comes to PC ports.

Oh, and in no way was this game "Critically Acclaimed". It received average ratings all across the board.

I am a great lover of the Spidey games but I still have to get Web of Shadows & Shattered Dimensions first, I better get on this
