Sigh, A CALL OF DUTY Cinematic Universe Is Happening
Marvel Studios, what evil have you started popularizing the Cinematic Universe? At BlizzCon, Activision announced they are starting a film studios that will make a cinematic universe based on the popular Call of Duty games but no news on Crash Bandicoot. Click to check this out.
Since Marvel Studios popularized the Cinematic Universe idea, cinematic universes didn't start with the Marvel Cinematic Universe it started with Universal Monsters, many studios have decided to start Cinematic Universes. Fox is working on a X-Men Cinematic Universe. WB/DC is working on a DC Extended Universe. Universal is working on a new Monster Cinematic Universal. Paramount is working on a Transformers Cinematic Universe. Sony was going to do a Spider-Man Cinematic Universe but thanks to the The Unamazing Hipster-Douche 2: Rise of Blue Riddler I mean The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro failing epically, a Spidey Cinematic Universe won't happen.
Now we will have a Call of Duty Cinematic Universe. In an Investor Day presentation (like how the MCU was officially announced and how the films in the DCEU were announced & DCEU criticized for being announced that way for some illogical reason) leading up to BlizzCon yesterday, Activision Blizzard announced Activision Blizzard Studios. This new division of the company will focus on creating original films and TV shows. The company's first film project announced is “a robust cinematic universe” based on Activision's Call of Duty franchise. This project plans to include “a series of Call of Duty feature films as well as the possibility of television adaptations.” No timing or additional information was revealed at this time. The first Call of Duty film will be released in either 2018 or 2019. So what are your thoughts on this? Instead of having yearly rehashed Call of Duty games, we will now have yearly rehashed Call of Duty games and movies likely. Are you excited for that? Would you like to see Destiny get a film (boy I'd hate to be the writer for that)? Would you prefer to see a Crash Bandicoot movie? Or at least a new Crash Bandicoot game? Comment below, let me know. Peace and if you'd like to know my thoughts on this Call of Duty Cinematic Universe and the people who thought of it...
