Superman Game by Rocksteady

Superman Game by Rocksteady

With the Arkham franchise coming to a close for Rocksteady, here are my ideas for a Superman game developed by them.

Have a location in the city where you "go to Fortress of Solitude.” You will fly to the fortress in a cutscene. And be able to walk around and explore the Fortress of Solitude.

Have a location in the city where you "go to Kent Farm". While at the farm be able to change into either Superman or Clark Kent.

Something similar to this, but without the red lines on the waist, and a yellow shield on the cape.

Health meter:
City destruction meter like in Superman Returns (during free roam and daily crimes, and during boss fights), during boss fights you'll have a city destruction meter, an energy meter and health meter.

Destruction meter (Starts at 0%): Increases when damage is sustained to Metropolis
Energy meter (Starts at 100%): Depletes when powers are used (heat vision, super breath, freeze breath)
Health meter (Starts at 100%): Superman begins to take damage to his health when his energy meter drops below 10%

You can fly up into the sky and recharge your energy, but while doing this the boss will cause destruction to the city, so you should only charge for a moment, otherwise you will lose if the meter reaches 100% destruction.

Environment:
Nearly everything should be destructible. Buildings, Windows, vehicles, create craters from dropping, (size of crater depends on the height and force from fall). While free roaming, if you were to fly into a building while flying at a fast speed parts of the building and glass will shatter or break, causing a slight increase in the destruction meter. The meter will go down gradually as construction workers make repairs to whatever gets damaged in the city.

Free roam:
During free roam if you cause too much destruction you will begin to be looked at as a problem and you will gain symbols of the S shield circled with a line through it, much like stars in GTA and other games.

1 shield: Small forces of military will arrive and attempt to talk you down.
2 shield: Tanks will arrive and military will begin to open fire on you
3 shield: Helicopters will use machine guns and missiles on you
4 shield: Jets arrive to increase fire power
5 shield: Members of the Justice League arrive to bring you down. (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter) Taking any one of them out will result in Batman arriving in his Batwing and engage with kryptonite laced missiles.

Story missions: These are just bullet points and general ideas.

I think they should use Mxyzptlk in a way similar to how they use Riddler in the Arkham series. Reality bending missions where Superman must restore order and trick him into saying his name backwards at the end of the quest. There should be about 10-20 of these types of side quests. Let’s face it, how many times can someone be tricked into saying their name backwards?

Toyman creates robots and other toys around Metropolis that vary in abilities. Some shoot bullets, others missiles, and others acid.

Lex creates Parasite to drain Superman's power and kill him

Lex creates Metallo with Superman's weakness to kill him

Lex controls a battlesuit from a hidden room at LexCorp that has the power to drain Superman's powers, emit Kryptonite blasts, and has super-strength and ability to withstand a lot of punishment from Superman. (Lex shouldn't be in the suit, because he'd get seriously injured.) Superman tracks down Lex and Lex goes to prison.

Doomsday arrives, fights Superman, Doomsday dies and Superman appears to as well. The Superbots from the fortress come to Superman and bring him to the Fortress and put him in a healing stasis in hopes he will recover. During the fight, part of the prison is damaged and severeal criminals escape, including Lex Luthor. During Superman's absense, Lex creates an alternate Superman from Superman’s blood.

Lex creates Bizarro from the blood of Superman found on Metallo's damaged body from his fight with Superman. But the blood has been exposed and adapted to Kryptonite thus making Bizarro immune to it. Lex thinks he can control this version of Superman. After a while Bizarro becomes erratic and Lex loses control of him. He begins causing destruction and doing the opposite of everything Superman does. After Superman recovers in the Fortress and learns of this he flys to Metropolis and battles Bizarro.

Superman learns of a mysterious portal developing on the outskirts of Metropolis. Superman is transported to Warworld to fight the gladiators there, eventually putting Superman up against Mongul.

When Superman is teleported back to Earth he crashes into a console in the Fortress of Solitude and accidentally opens the Phantom Zone. Zod comes out and fights Superman in the Fortress. Zod eventually knocks Superman back and retreats but Superman catches up to him and the second location of the fight is in the air above Smallville, (most notably above the Kent farm.) Seeing there may be a chance he won’t beat Superman, Zod vows to cause as much destruction and fatalities to the people of Earth. He flies to the closest major city, Metropolis. Superman must stop Zod before he destroys the whole city. At the end of the fight Superman gets behind Zod and puts him in a full nelson and with a sonic boom flies back to the Fortress and flies into the Phantom Zone. He rushes out and closes the Fortress, sealing Zod in yet again.

A man arrives on Earth, by the name of Orion, and asks you to help them in a fight against the tyrant Darkseid.

Travel to Apokolips and aid the soldiers of New Genesis. Defeat Parademons along the way to your fight with Darkseid where Orion will assist you. Darkseid is defeated but activates a boom tube and escapes, and vows that he will have revenge and find Superman and destroy him and anyone who stands with him.

Sequel:

Brainiac

Let me know what you think and what alternate suits or story ideas you'd like to see in a Superman game!

About Myx: Each mission should get more and more violent and on a larger scale! At the end he warps the world into chaos and you can't progress til he's defeated. With each encounter his appearance alters eventually resulting in him being a monstrously powerful and scary looking power house boss.

Yeah that sounds cool. Imagine trying to go about your daily superhero routine but it gets all Inception in Metropolis lol.

What was great about Arkham games is that they were same time very accurate to source material yet they created their completely own continuty.

This is simply amazing.
These are such great ideas that I'd never thought of, and I love the Justice League element!

Sounds good on paper but few stop to think will lighting strike twice.Rocksteady made a good series of Batman games but can they do the same for Superman. It's a long shot cause they're as different as night and day and what work for the Dark knight may not be what's right for the Man of Steel.Maybe another studio should handle it instead.

These are amazing ideas, only thing i would add would be an over arching sorry, like if darkseid is last villain then lay the seeds for him through the game so it seems to be building up to the finale, maybe he sent myxl, and after myxl loses darkseid thanos' that peice and tries it himself, that way it seems like it was building to that all along.
That said i would so much rather it be a flash game rocksteady does next. Its just closer to batman than supes and it would be a great chance to mess with the superspeed engine they would need for the superman game (altered of course) running up buildings, a speed force vision where you can see through walls because you are fast enough to see through the atoms as they orbit each other, multi flash team ups, plus running up buildings and on water would be mindmelting awesome. Not that supes wouldnt, i just want to see them go more obscure but still grounded.
