I just finished BioShock 2. Well… here’s the review…

To start off I will say this: THIS GAME FRICKING RULES!!!!! The first game was fantastic, but this one is 100 times better!!

In case you didn’t know, this is a first-person shooter. If you’ve seen the trailers then these are not spoilers. No spoilers here, I’ll just mention what’s seen in the trailers only . You play as Subject Delta, the first Big Daddy. You can wield plasmids and weapons at once, plus you have your own free will, unlike regular Big Daddies. The year is 1970ish, and you want to find your little sister, Eleanor. A new woman (similar yet different to Andrew Ryan) has taken over Rapture. Her name is Sofia Lamb. She basically wants Delta dead. I don’t want to get too deep into the story, but you basically go to many new(in fact all of them are new) areas in the game searching for Eleanor. You must also make certain choices in the game. Without divulging too much, that’s the basic story. The story is even better than the fantastic one of the first game.

The gameplay is fantastic!!! You get to dual wield plasmids and weapons at once. You get to use the drill and the rivet gun. The controls are basically the same to the first game (with some minor changes). The game isn’t too hard (I played through hard on my first run, since I already knew the controls), but I did die frequently… but maybe I just suck at gaming. :) You have very good control, the camera works perfectly (just like Call of Duty basically), you can splice up many tonics together to help you in many different ways. The weapons have 3 ammo types again, hacking slightly different (not much harder at all from the hacking from BioShock 1), and you can now adopt little sisters. This is where you take her to gather ADAM from corpses. That’s the gameplay, it really rocks!!!!! If you liked the first game, you’ll like this one.

The graphics are fantastic (the underwater moments are spectacular) and I have no idea about the DLC as I haven’t checked out Multiplayer yet (looks fantastic though). The voice acting is just as great (if not better) than the first game. The audio dairies tell a really fantastic story and I suggest listening to them. The game is fun, fantastic, and just plain spectacular!!!!! This is a definite buy!!! Well… I hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.

Final Score:

10 out of 10
