In a recent interview with Movieline, the actress who plays Sif in Marvel Studios blockbuster THOR, revealed that she has her sights set on a few other action orientated roles including iconic video game character, Lara Croft! Here are a few excerpts from her interview with the site, and you can read more by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.

"I've obviously been hearing about a Tomb Raider reboot, which I think would be pretty awesome — Lara Croft. Anything that's very physical. ... I would love to pursue Lara Croft."

"I'm not going to try and be Angelina Jolie. She's her own woman, and she did a fantastic job as Lara Croft. If that opportunity arises for me, then I would put my own spin on Lara Croft. There's no way I would try and copy what she did. I think that's a huge mistake with actors and actresses who are taking on a role that was previously done by someone else."

For gods sake.
She's annoying me now. She just keeps throwing popular characters out there since she knows her fanbase will go crazy and then she'll get offers.

Her ego is getting too big. Love her as an actress, think she's gorgeous, but she needs to calm down.

I can see her doing this. As much as I love Olivia Wilde as an actress and a smoking hot lady, she looks TOO pretty to be Lara Croft. Lara is supposed to be hot, but gritty and "hardened", if you will, also. I think Jaimie would do a great job. As for her boobs, it really doesn't matter to me. The reboot of the Tomb Raider game franchise's new Lara Croft looks much less "pretty" and more like a normal human, and she doesn't have D-cup tits.

Hayley's body type is a little too curvey and frumpy for my liking :/ I think she's amazing, but I don't know if I'll be convinced of her being a kick-ass, dangerous action heroine

It's kinda funny that this is supposed to be a reboot/origin story featuring a younger Lara than the previous films, but the actresses being thrown around are actually older than Jolie when she did the first Tomb Raider.

curvey are better woman and they can kickass. all the woman who model Lara Croft had curve. Olivia Wilde is too skinny it looks too strange when she hold a gun and fighting.

Olivia Wilde is like Zoe Saldana shes too fricking skinny doing action flicks.

But it's like Iron Man 2. ScarJo was not convincing at all doing the kind of stunts and martial arts she did, it was ridiculous. They were initially going to cast the more slender and taller Emily, who would've pulled it off.

Don't get me wrong, power to the curves.

@CherryBomb True, she is terrible at delivering lines, but when delivering the stunts she was equally bad.
But I do think it had something to do with her body type also. & Lara Croft is stereotypically tall and slender.

Let's see. Tomb Raider, a movie not to be taken seriously in the first place. Jaimie Alexander; attractive, sweet, nice physical shape and just came off of an awesome action movie. Yeah, why not. I might think about seeing it if she's in it. Not really a role they're going to craft and think deeply about anyway.

And Angela Jolie didn't even look like Laura Craft. At all. But the first one was watchable at the time.

I think Jaimie Alexander is great, but she's not right for the part. I would suggest Rhona Mitra if they weren't making this movie an reboot/origin movie(younger Lara Croft). I think Gemma Aterton, Emily Blunt, and Olivia Wilde would be good choices.
