Announced earlier in December of last year, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is one of those games that no one could've ever seen coming; much less it being a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

While the announcement trailer didn't really give much away - other than low-key revealing the game's plot as well as some of the characters that will be playable - the fact that the game was even announced was definitely some exciting news for fans of the long-neglected Ultimate Alliance series.

During today's Nintendo Direct, Marvel gave us a brand-new — and action-packed — trailer for Marvel Ultimate lliance 3: The Black Order, revealing even more information about the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch exclusive.

As to be expected from most games on Nintendo's handheld hybrid console, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will allow players to be joined by three other friends for some classic action RPG sessions while playing in TV mode. Play the game with up to 4 players — each with their own Nintendo Switch console — or even be joined by other people in Online Mode.

Given that Captain Marvel will be making her cinematic debut on the 8th of March, Marvel has revealed that Carol Danvers will also be available as a playable character when Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order releases for the Nintendo Switch this summer.

Take a look:

MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order: For the first time in 10 years, the MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE series returns with four-player action and an original story … all exclusive to Nintendo Switch! Assemble your dream team from a huge cast of Super Heroes, including Marvel’s ultimate cosmic protector, Captain Marvel.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is expected to release this summer.

Can't wait, but the lack of Fantastic Four in both trailers has me a bit concerned. DLC is a possibility, but still

I LOVED Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 for the Xbox. I still find myself playing those on occasion even today. But despite that, I'm not getting a Nintendo Switch just to play the third installment.

You had me at Ultimate Alliance.
You lost me at Nintendo exclusive.

@rabid - I'd bet that it will be released for other consoles in a few months.

I'll probably have to buy a handful of copies to make my friends play it with me XD

God, I wish they released it on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, not just the Nintendo Switch. I really want it on all consoles for everyone. I created a petition to make that happen. Please sign it and spread the word to everyone.

@brodie999 - I am pretty certain Nintendo are the ones fronting the money to develop the title.

It doesn’t bother me as I have both so I am loving the idea of Marvel on the go.

@Knightrider - I know. But it wouldn't hurt them to at least develop the game on Xbox One or Playstation 4 either. The first 2 MUA games were on all consoles. There's no reason this one can't be too.

@brodie999 - Agreed, having variety across platforms would be great and for people upset this on Switch need to remember that an Avengers game is in development for Xbox and PS, which no doubt won’t be on Switch.

@Knightrider - Agreed. There's a lot of Marvel games that haven't been on other consoles for years. Also, we need to start to campaign Marvel to release late X-Men and Fantastic Four DLC on Lego MArvel's Avengers and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. A lot of fans were angry about it. So I thought introducing them into the game 2-3 years later would help ease long-time FF and X-Men fans, so they can have the whole Marvel Universe in these LEGO games. They also don't have to be angry at Marvel for not putting these characters in the games.
