Last night, Chris Pine made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about his upcoming film, The Finest Hours. Kimmel, of course, took the opportunity to ask him about his role in the new Wonder Woman movie he is currently filming in London. "I play a guy named Steve Trevor, for all of you that know the lore, is Wonder Woman's better half." He then revealed what prompted him to join Wonder Woman in the DCEU. "I see a lady named Gal Gadot in it and she's fantastic and she's doing a wonderful job. "

During the interview the host also asked pine whether or not Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman would be flying around in her famous invisible plane. To Kimmel's surprise, the actor said he had no idea what he was talking about and was clueless to the idea of the character's rather riduclous plane being in the film. But, as soon as Kimmel brought up Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth, the actor immediately shut it down saying he "can't talk specifics."

Pine then went into detail on how a female led superhero film like Wonder Woman has a different set of dynamics than that of a regular CBM. "It takes place in World War I. If I'm being honest, I think what's really neat about it is that you know with all the Thors and the Captain Kirks, I feel like with men at the helm its always this revenge cycle kind of thing," said Pine. "An eye for an eye, we're going to go get the bad guys and the bad guy is defeated. What I think its really lovely of having a woman at the helm of something like this is just by virtue of her being a woman there is a great deal of more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big as a film as this is going to be and with the kind of eyes that are watching, I think it's wonderful in the little bit that we could do to hopefully inch this universe towards something not as aggressive and violent as this one."

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 23, 2017.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Säid Taghmaoui, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Lucy Davis. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jason Fuchs.

Phuck that compassion crap!! I want warrior wonder woman!! I don't want a wonder woman that is going to defeat her foes with kindness. Kill that noise Chris Pine.

If done right, this could be the DCEU'S first "fresh" entry. This or Cyborg.

@The Phantom: Man you really don´t get it! That´s Wonder Woman´s character and what differs her from the Trinity. I love this news. It means they are staying closer to the pre-52 wonder woman who was a warrior and diplomat, but if you get her angry she kicks your ass in style, rather than the one-dimensional, uninteresting and uninspired version we have had to suffer with in the New 52 version!

@Phantom: If every characters just like Batman, then it just becomes boring. Being just a badass out for revenge is Batman´s gig. That´s why MOS sucked, they Batmanized Superman and it completely screwed up the character and made him un-relatable.

@JaredsJoker - Believe it or not, I'm a guy who can lay claim to have read every single Superman comic-book ever released. You can call it what you like, but they have indeed batmanized Superman in the DCEU.

@aresww3

Well I guess we just like different versions of the character. I prefer the version that is basically a fierce warrior. Wonder Woman is the only person in the trinity that is an actual warrior with an army. Shes a soldier. Shes probably the only person in the trinity that would make sense if they kill! Batman and Superman should be the ones having to reign her in not the other way around.

This wonder woman movie just feels way too soft right now. They have her dressing like a character from pride and prejudice, looking dainty and un-intimidating. I'm just not feeling it.

@ThePhantazm - Wonder Woman has always been judicious with her strength. She sets an example that violence isn't always the answer. If you give her no choice, she'll show you war.

I was just giving it the benefit of the doubt. Chances are it'll be "rotten" like the rest of them.

Pine sounds sincere. Like he's grateful to be part of something special. 3/25 cannot get here fast enough! Then we'll know for sure if Gal can pull it off. Here's hoping!

@JaredsJoker you can't be serious. MOS was WBs attempt to make Superman into Batman. It's plain as day. I'm a huge DC fan boy and Superman is my all time favorite character in fiction. They took the character of Superman, whom they obviously, after 75 years, still don't understand and placed him Batman's world and used that as an excuse to make him "edgy" "dark" and "gritty" all the things people loved about the Nolan Batman. Some executive at WB was like we want a Superman movie just like the Nolan Batman movies because Superman is one of our biggest money makers but the kids always complain that he's too much of boy scout and Batman just made us a butt load of money so make him like Batman. Also I don't really see Batman as angry. He doesn't get emotional, he's cold and heartless. He's usually the calm collected one with the plan that cares about nothing but the mission. If anyone is angry out of the bunch it's usually Wonder Woman.

@JaredsJoker:
The tone he was talking about was not about powers its about the way conversations are handled, the emotional palette shown by the characters. They took all of the wonder and amazement out of Superman. Oh sorry, they left in ONE scene, first flight, where that bit shines through.

Heavy handed conversations and exposition is Nolan's hallmark in his Batman movies and its all over MoS, as is the draining of color and the premise of "what would happen if we put this character in the real world".

Having Lois Lane tell the audience, literally, how he's always helping people and how inspiring it is is not good film making. If you're having trouble remembering I'm talking about the oil rig scene, a scene the director took out back to the shed with that voice over.

The only moment he connects emotionally, as Superman, with anyone is that fat kid from his youth who he quickly saves in the smallville diner. That moment should have been given more room to breathe, its the only flashback that pays off later in the movie, there's so much they could've done with it to flesh it out (or the movie should have more moments like it) but instead its a half second nod and we're back to throwing gasoline trucks to show how powerful and serious this Superman is now. Because big explosions equal serious and stakes.

Frikkin' nineties event comics fratboy juvenile attitude. Michael Bay could've made this movie.

The stakes are high, the stakes are important, blah blah, the stakes are meaningless without heart, without emotion. Was anyone not jarred by seeing the Daily Planet lot running around? I know what they're trying to show, but it's once again done in an almost amateur fashion. You want a movie that makes good use of a stakes are high plot? Wargames.

Sure, enjoy it all you want, don't spout on about how its the perfect movie or the perfect depiction of Superman. Apparently its something YOU wanted to see, a lot of people don't share the sentiment. Ignoring the glaring flaws of a movie doesn't make them go away.
