I just received a report from one of our contributors that on ESPN Minka Kelly may play Wonder Woman in the new TV series. This was overheard while they discussed who may have a brighter future: Derek Jeter or Minka Kelly. Therein, Kelly was mentioned in connection to the new DC/WB show in the works.



Kelly is probably best known as Lyla Garrity in the Friday Night Lights TV show and has starred in several movies. Any fans of Marc Webb's 500 Days of Summer will remember her cameo at the end as Autumn!

I'm working on finding more info at the moment. If it does come to pass, what do you think of this casting choice?

As you can see Kelly is listed as possibly starring in a Wonder Woman film. During the telecast, it was mentioned as its being a TV show. Of course it's anyone's guess if ESPN's information is accurate. There you go. More updates as we have them.

Also, I do agree with Shaman, WW shld not be petit. She's a freaking Amazon! I don't think she shld be like grossly huge like a female bodybuilder, but at least tall....and stacked :P

Susan Ward is only 5'4 and is a horrible actress.

I think they need someone with the height and body type of Lucy Lawless or Peta Wilson in the 90s.

I think Xena and Nikita also has great voices, as they were feminine, yet they weren't girly.They had an even, deeper masculinity to them.They had strong voices.

I haven't really seen Minka Kelly act outside of the two minutes she was in 500 Days of Summer, but after playing a cheerleader for five years I am sure she could physically handle the role.

Unfortunately there is no way this series is going to end up outside the CW. Life Unexpected, One Tree Hill, Smallville, and even Supernatural are likely to be gone after this season.

Leighton Meester and Blake Lively will probably want to leave Gossip Girl to focus on their film careers so that may get canceled as well. Besides Hellcats, Nikita, 90210, and Blue Beetle the CW doesn't have much so they have to keep Wonder Woman. That means it will likely be a more teen-relationship focused show to market to the 18-24 males and females.

If I had to guess, I would say that this is likely being made into a TV show because Warner Brothers couldn't find a way to make Wonder Woman into a movie that would make the large amount of money they wanted it to.

I think it was mentioned somewhere else that Warner Bros actually was considering her, but I think Rachel Specter could do a great job in the role if she put some time in at the gym. She has never really gotten the kind of roles she deserves and she looks a lot younger than she actually is.

That is literally the only half decent picture I have ever seen of O'keefe, and you have some big time studio lighting going on to disguise her ugliness! ah no, I wouldn't say ugly exactly, but certainly not attractive! She has the face of a witch from a children's fairy story.
