Rumor: Wonder Woman Wearing New Costume From Comics?

The new costume that premiered in last year's Wonder Woman #600 is rumoured to be the costume worn by Palicki in the New Wonder Woman TV series.

Craig Bryne, Webmaster of Kryptonsite found new information in regards to the Wonder Woman TV series.

"Some word came in from Christopher Cooley @WonderboyLB today… that the costume that we’ll be seeing in the Wonder Woman pilot will be the one that premiered in last year’s Wonder Woman #600 comic book.

This news will surely spark controversy (if true) but then again, from a real-life perspective it might be easier to outfit an actress into every day… especially if she’s doing stunts. And it’s inevitable that we’d see the “real” suit eventually if it goes to series. Right? Hopefully."

Personally, I have no problems with the costume change, you all already know about my distaste for the previous costume despite being a fan of the character.

I don't give a rats ass which costume they use for the show as I'm not a huge WW fan to begin with. I do however have a question for Oreos.

What exactly do you find "bad for children" about WW's original costume? So there is a little skin showing. She does not go around acting provocative or flaunting her sexiness. She is fighting crime. Are we so protective these days that a child shouldn't see a bit of "exposed" female skin? I doubt even in these days and times that there are too many small children that have not bathed with their mother.

too bad, but I will take bets on how long the Network will take to put Wonder Women in the old outfit because the old outfit sells much better than the new one. I say 6 episodes! Go!

I can deal with the pants, but for the love of God lose the recolored 90's Rogue jacket. I still think a Greco-Roman style could look good on film, but I'd shy away from it on a TV budget lest it look like a reworked Xena costume.

The classic costume will be featured in the series as the "old" outfit Wonder Woman used to wear, now kept in the closet but still featured on the merchandise licensed by Themyscira Industries.

Look, that classic costume was never going to be used in this day and age on screen, and it shouldn't be. I don't particularly like the new costume either, but WW would havew looked like a vigilante porn star in that get up. Nobody would take it seriously. Not that they will anyway the way thsi show is shaping up! But nobody should be surprised that they are ditching the slut gear.

Page = Works Screen = Does not work

I was hoping for the battle skirt, similiar to images I've seen here. This is ok. An update is needed. The original is iconic but hardly practical. She'd be pulling the thing out of her ass crack all day. Don't believe it has anything to do with protecting children. Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders show more skin.

Hawks & tea - Agreed. I'd rather have my son see a little skin than violence. I guess some people are never going to take their kids to the beach out of fear of seeing a half naked woman in a bikini or even watch a football game because of those damn harlot cheerleaders ;)

I'd also rather my son see a little female skin than this:

Ror I agree with you on the Old costume. The old Costume detracted from the idea that here was a viable hero and not just eye candy. Yet I like the New Costume. It has real feel to it. It makes her seem like what the is. The Personification of what a Female Super Hero should be. It will be nice to see her Back on the Screen. My Opinion.

Who cares anyway? Doubt it'll make it even halfway through a season without being pulled.
Female CB leads do not pull in the crowds unless the dads can get a bouncing cleavage and regular flash of thigh. Sad but true. Anway what the hell is wrong with a strong, sexy (half dressed)female lead?

As for the new costume, it looks pretty decent without the jacket. Her boobs are still popping out which is good, but they need to add some boots and it would be a lot better.

Drop the jacket and I think it should be fine.

Well seeing how they said she wouldn't be wearing the old iconic costume, this one works as it has the aestic look of the original but is more fucntional. But drop the jacket.

I figured this was what was happening. DC got the revamped suit out there to sell a show or movie. Many producers and actresses object to the original. Now its looking like the original is coming back to comics after the show is inked.
I hope this is not the continued diretion of DC Entertainment. This will only cheapen both comic and media projects.

When I was on holiday in Florida the average female wore tiny shorts and vest, so to claim the classic costume is unsuitable is rubbish. Both Tarzan and Conan wear less.
If she isn't in the star knickers there is no point watching.

just lose the jacket and its a good enough costume for the tv show, keep the original one for the movie IF THEY EVER MAKE one, and make the skirt a battle skirt like the one SHO1138 posted

Immediate FAIL! That new costume is the worst 90's looking piece of crap ensemble I've ever seen.

The original 40's costume is not the one from just last year boys and girls. It had a skirt. In the 50's it had long shorts. The WW costume from the 70's thru 2010 is just fine. It's sexy and indentifiable for mainstream audiences with the character. Anything else and people will not easily associate her with the real deal.

Lynda Carter made that suit look fantastic.

And here we have another example of a great old '70s "T&A" show being redone in a manner that ignores why people watched it. Who would want to see WW in that crappy recent costume? Audiences want the classic outfit that really shows off her assets.

As for this silly arguments about kids seeing it? I was a kid watching the original show. My mom is an old-school church-lady type, and she had no problem with me watching it. Any kids that know who Wonder Woman is have seen her in the Justice League cartoon, where she wore the classic costume.

Makes sense, this new costume is a bit more tactical and practical for her.

Plus I like the new design, it is modern but pays respect to the original but improves on it and adapts it to a new audience.

Good. it just makes sense. the smiwsuit while looking rediculous is totally impractical. I like the new costume, I just think the leather jacket is kinda out of place. I mean after all she still is a comic book superheroine.
