It's been revealed today that Patty Jenkins will indeed take the helm of the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel which is set to be released on December 13th, 2019. She'll co-write the movie with Geoff Johns and the filmmaker has received a significant pay increase which brings what she'll earn on part with male directors. Jenkins received $1 million for the first instalment but that's all changed.
After all, Wonder Woman has earned over $813 million worldwide and was a critical hit for Warner Bros. at a time when they desperately needed one after Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.
Now, Jenkins looks set to earn around $9 million, the same amount Zack Snyder made after helming Man of Steel. She'll also get a considerable backend and it's fair to say that's well-deserved given what an incredible job she did with the first instalment. It's obviously still very early days for Wonder Woman 2 but we'll hopefully get some casting news early next year when pre-production kicks off properly.
