Wonder Woman 1984 will release in theatres and on HBO Max simultaneously on Christmas Day in the United States, but the DC Comics sequel is set for a theatrical run in the UK and Ireland on December 16, and a new trailer has now been shared online by director Patty Jenkins.
This (presumably) final teaser is light on dialogue, but it does feature some action-packed new footage of Diana (Gal Gadot) taking the fight to villains Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), as old flame Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) provides some backup.
Initial social media reactions to the the iconic hero's second solo adventure have been very positive, and even though it's best not to put too much stock in early buzz for any movie, the huge amount of praise heaped on WW84 should definitely be taken as a good sign.
Wonder Woman 1984 will roll-out overseas between the 16th and 18th before hitting theatres in the U.S. on Christmas day. The DC Comics sequel is then expected to stream on HBO Max for the first month (at no extra cost to subscribers), before returning to theatres for an additional few weeks and being made available for rental on demand.
