WONDER WOMAN Kicks Off Its International Theatrical Run With $6.3 Million From Wednesday Night Showings
Wonder Woman doesn't open Stateside until Friday, but Patty Jenkins' critically acclaimed DC flick screened in six locations around Asia last night, and now the first figures are in. Take a look...
Warner Bros. and director Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman movie lassoed a very respectable $6.3M at the international box office on Wednesday. The iconic Amazon warrior's first solo adventure released in six offshore markets, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Indonesia, and has, unsurprisingly, been dominating all so far.
Wonder Woman is expected to have a terrific opening weekend in North America, and because of the great reviews it will most likely wind up having stronger legs than the previous 3 DCEU entries. That said, the film will face some stiff competition from Tom Cruise and The Mummy when the horror reboot hits theaters a week later.
